Title: Big Pun or Tash
Post by: TraceOneInfinite Flat Earther 96' on March 17, 2021, 03:24:30 PM
Subjectively speaking like who do you bump more and who are you more of a fan of?  I mean some may say Pun is more talented but I would expect West Coast headz would be feeling Tash's work a lot more than Pun, but maybe I'm wrong

Both are in my Top 50 rappers of all time, but lyrically Pun is better than Tash. Technically Pun is better than Tash and I think Tash would admit that himself. I think I like "Rap Life" more than I like "Capital Punishment" though. Both albums are classics that you can bump from the beginning to the end.

I thought his solo joint "Rap Life" was better than any Liks album.

I enjoy listening to Tash more...while he's not the lyricist that Pun was Tash's delivery and flow is what makes him so dope 8)

What's similar about these two is that they both have / had some funny lyrics. I'm pretty sure Tash is (at least half) latino too.

I thought his solo joint "Rap Life" was better than any Liks album.

That's a tough one. The first three albums from them are all classics IMO.

Tash is horribly good and really underated but Pun man, too big to swallow for him lol (just my view), too many "classics" by the punisher. Beware, whatcha gonna do, Boomerang, The hidden hand (even if Cuban Links murks everybody on this one), capital punishment, fast money, you aint a killa,  find out, glamour life, my turn, punish me, twinz (solo or with TS or fat joe), hard to fuck with that, but Tash definitly a great tho, and most of all, that's just for me.

I remember buying stash album at Pennylane in Alhambra the same day Tha Streetz iz A Mutha and 2001 dropped.  That Tash album was a big deal to me, dope video with Rap Life, Tash was making some noise with the Soundbombing joint with Mos Def.
Tash had some big features with Rap Life.  I bump that album still, crazy this morning I was bumping Ricochet ans Pimpin Aint Easy ... Gz is Gz with Kurupt still gets bumped, but the solo joints were as dope as the collabs, and Tash deserved to shine.

2001 just kind of overshadowed most of the project, it was dope to see the remix and video to Gz Is Gz with Snoop trying to get him more shine at that time. X was super hot and Snoop had co-signed X to stardom with Dre.  A shame Tash didn’t get that shine with that record as well.

Pun. Dude was just a star. His voice, delivery, metaphors.. a time when being as different as possible is what defined you.
Now everyone's just trying to be the same but without the talent. The internet fucked over talent in a number of ways. The record company days sucked for artists but the level of competition was insane. The bar was so fucking high. That's completely disappeared.
Anyway, Pun.

Who's everyone's favorite Liks member? Mine is King T

I love Pun and the first album, I’m not as crazy about listening to Yeaah Baby album, it’s not what I really wanted or a strong follow up to the first Pun album.
I think Tash had a dope ass first album and went back to the Tha Liks a bit quick, they seemed next to blow, and I wish it would have.

The x.o. Experience was a dope ass album too
