Title: DJ Premier work to be on Rakim CD?
Post by: jacktheripper on May 16, 2003, 08:06:31 AM
I heard Primo will do a few tracks, but very much to Dr dre's dissaproval...

This is NOT official, so dont go pasting it anywhere. I just wondered if you guys have heard the same?

I hope Primo gets much work on Ra's album. Maybe someone else like Pete Rock, Extra P, Easy Mo Bee, or Shawn J will get some work too.

But Primo should be enough to compensate for Dre's repetitive, boring, wannabe orchestra beats. Primo even made Group Home's album very dope.

Nothing is official about this album.  Premier never got his beats rejected by Dr. Dre and Premier said he was heading to the studio with Rakim to work with him, not just hand over beats to Dre.

And this is false:

Primo will do a few tracks, but very much to Dr dre's dissaproval...

yeah theres been a few things about this before.. including an interview with primo where he bigged up dre and talked about how they go back some...

last word was that primo's beats were rejected by dre tho...

thing is... its like theres a purposeful misinformation around the rakim project to make people expect the unexpected so they get the 'oh my god' they want... and this tactic has even been banded around by some as official policy.... weird huh!

I heard from someone who spoke with Primo that he has done some tracks for Oh My God and the album is gonna be more of the ghetto, grimier & darker side of Rakim (Primo said they really bringing some gutter shit with this album, or something like that). That would make sense from the verses we've heard from him so far while he's been on Aftermath, and would also make good business sense as thats whats popular at the moment.
