Don’t really care about the cover. Quik has had some corny covers before but the music is always fire. Looking forward to the album. Haven’t heard any new quik in years

His last solo album was released in 2014. I still remember only 3 joints were dope, That Nigger's Crazy, Puffin The Dragon and Pet Semetery. Rest was not memorable. It was really a dissapointing album by Quik.
I hope he comes back with something dope after all these years.

Agreed - I supported it, but that album felt a little....empty.....Production wasn't the Quik we knew.
Hopefully hes back with this - has to be after such a lengthy absence.

I liked Broken Down with Suga Free & Tweed Cadillac, but i agree!

"Midnight Life" was pretty solid to me and better than some of his previous albums, except off course for the tracks with his son that were trash.
The beat of "Fuck All Night" is pure magic, simple but perfect.
"That N* Crazy" could have been a masterpiece but James DeBarge, unfortunately and unexpectedly, destroyed it, I remember DJ Quik did a live version that was the bomb!
This album should have 10 tracks but let's see, he said the title was "Qusic" or something but I see he already changed it.

As I expected - not the Quik I was waiting for.

I already love the single, he said that in this album he's not going to rap in his trademark pitch voice and that's a good thing to me ("I Don't Wanna Party Wit U" is one of his best songs ever).
Love the beat too, very nice atmosphere, it has some kind of "White Lotus" Season 1 theme vibe :)

Songs straight up trash, the lyrics are like a 5 year old wrote it, the beat is ok but not the sample over it which is mega annoying, why has all the old og artists release so much crap now days, im sick of the west coast now days, the funny thing is the YouTubers make better mixes now

8) I like it… slow flow for the quikster at the start then he speeds it up at the end. I like the sample too.

It's definitely different, but I'm not mad at it. It grows on me with each listen. Looking forward to the album.

I like it, was not expecting a track as slow and laid-back as this for DJ Quik's first offering for the new album, normally he comes with something a bit more uptempo. I'm sure he'll have records like that on the full album.
The first few bars I was thinking it was a feature artist as it caught me off guard with Quik using a slightly different voice tone. It's always good to hear scratching on a record as well, especially when it's done by DJ Quik.

I REALLY like the production and scratching…classic feels. Musically, this is excellent.
But the subject matter is tired…which would be okay if it wasn’t for the less than basic lyrics and Quik not sounding at all like Quik. What’s with the voice? I’ve listened to every Quik song ever and I know he’s used different voices/flows, but this first verse especially doesn’t even sound like him.
Rosecrans was INCREDIBLE and I’m not even a Problem fan at all, so I’m gonna keep the faith that the album is gonna be great

I can agree that lyrics wise it's not too elaborated, but he's not called DJ Shakespeare, I'm just happy that he has a more mature flow and voice, something that he has done from time to time also in the past (especially on B&O).
The production is on point, the way he handled the sample of "This Love's For Real" by The Impressions is interesting, I appreciated also the scratches.
Looking forward for the 10th album, it's on!

Wow has this grown on me. Just unreal production…sample is dope and what Quik does with it is perfect. His voice has grown on me and while the lyrics are juvenile, the song overall is incredible IMO

This was a good single. A nice throwaway, I just feel kinda awkward listening to a 50 sum year old talk about a female spitting on it and dropping it low. Aside from that, it’s soulful and it’s a step in the right direction. Somebody here mentioned it sounds like Blaqkout and I agree. That being said, it’s long overdue and if the album sounds anything like this, then it’ll surpass Midnight Life without a doubt. Quik lyrics always stand out when they’re personal or dropping gems, so it would be good to hear him be more candid on the mic.

This is the worst I've ever heard from Quik since the Fixxers. Holy shit. Everything about this record is just wrong. How this is actually the same person that made Safe + Sound, Way 2 Fonky, Quik Is The Name, Balance & Options, Rhythmalism, Under The Influence, Trauma, Street Gospel, and The New Testament is mind-blowing. ???
