Eminem 'scouted' a new rapper for Dre and they signed him up -
July 26th, 2023 – Santa Monica, CA –Today, Las Vegas’ Ez Mil announces his signing to Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records. He joins the likes of 50 Cent as only a few of the artists signed to directly to all three labels. The singer-songwriter-producer-rapper also reveals the release date DU4LI7Y: REDUX (Virgin Music), the forthcoming deluxe edition of his 2022 LP. The project, which is set to drop on August 11, includes “Realest”, an intense new single featuring Eminem, who first heard Ez Mil’s music online and brought him to Dr. Dre, resulting in the co-sign.

Powered by lithe, expressive vocals, dexterous raps and songwriting know-how, Ez Mil’s latest level up is the product of talent, hard work and a keen knowledge of his own audience — in this case, that crowd happened to include Slim Shady himself. In February, Ez Mil released the video for his DU4LI7Ysingle “Up Down” on Virgin Music. Noting the similarities in their percussive flows, Em fans quickly picked up on the new release. About a month later, Eminem heard the song, and Ez Mil drove from Vegas to Los Angeles where he met Dre and Em for the first time. From there, Ez and Eminem stayed in contact and recorded “Realest,” a certified showcase of rap acrobatics.
For the track, the two bludgeon a pulsing beat with a barrage of multisyllabic rhyme schemes and the sorts of quippy wordplay that made Shady a legend. Now, having signed Ez Mil to his label, along with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope, Em’s in position to help push Ez to the same heights. Some of that work involved curating DU4LI7Y: REDUX, which will be Ez Mil’s final release on Virgin Music.
As a Shady/Aftermath/Interscope artist, Ez Mil is one with one of the music world’s great triumvirates. For his part, Eminem used endlessly personal songwriting and caustic wit to become one of the most defining artists in American pop culture. Before him, Dr. Dre pioneered the sound of West Coast hip-hop twice, first as a member of the seminal group N.W.A., and a few years later by infusing street music with soulful melodies to soundtrack a new generation of low-riding cool. Together, Eminem and Dr. Dre have made timeless music. They co-signed 50 Cent in 2002, whose music broke Billboard records while crystallizing him as a rap immortal. Building off the work of Virgin, Ez is poised to let his singing-rapping talent help him follow in those footsteps. Today is the first step.
“We’ve never been out there signing a lot of artists, and one of the great things about how we built Shady is how selective we’ve been,” commented Eminem. “And it’s even rarer that Dre and I sign something together – but I heard Ez’s music and was like, ‘this is really special” so I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit and we wanted to work with him right on the spot.”
Dr. Dre added, “I’m really only interested in working on shyt that sounds different from anything else going on out there, and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me Ez and I had that feeling…that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special. And that was it….let’s get to work.”

should be interesting to see if anything comes of it, as being on shady records means em will push for a release

He has definately more than what justus or king mez has. this dude is producing his own songs. he already has millions of views and streams and he did it only by himself. dr. dre and eminem will just multiply his sales, make him a mainstream artist and take him to the grammies.

i didn't say king mez is a bad rapper. but EZ Mil definately proved himself in this industry with having his own fans, listeners, millions of streams, sold out concerts... King mez is way far from this. so who would you invest to bro? We are not discussing who is better rapper here actually, i have lots of favorite rappers who i still think they are so underrated. we are discussing who is worth to invest and who has more potential to shine.

This kid is lucky he's signed to both Dre and Em. Em will make sure he gets an album out. Dre would force him to record for four years and then drop him.

This is embarrassing. I think it's time we acknowledge that Dre is a shell of himself and there's no reason to believe that Dre will deliver another classic going forward.

I'm with you. Dre still has the music and creativity, but has been in desperate need for the last 15 years of an executive stepping in at some point and saying to him, "Dre, this album is good enough and is releasing in three months, no ifs, ands, or buts. We're starting promo today and scheduling a video shoot in two weeks, so do whatever final mixing you need and wrap it up."

Checked this guy's previous releases......pretty much a weaker combination of Hopsin and Tom MacDonald, with the difference being that this guy can also sing.
I don't see how his content will appeal to the people who grew up on Dre and on the flip side the people he does appeal to - would not be bothered about Dre's involvement in his projects.
Expecting another yadda-yadda-yadda monotone fast-pace put-you-to-sleep verse from Eminem on his upcoming project, but lets see

I may have been a bit harsh in my original assessment of EZ Mil. Dr. Dre must see something in him if he was so keen to sign him to Aftermath as well as letting Eminem have a piece of the pie as well, and doing a bit more research he does appear to be more than just a one-dimensional rapper.
If we are honest, Kendrick Lamar (his last signing?) is considered as one of the 'older' rappers at this point, and Dre signing this guy signals that he's moving away from the traditional gangsta rappers that he has always signed to Aftermath Records.
I still probably won't really listen to any of his music, but I can see him doing alright if the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope machine gets fully behind him.

At the historic Terence Crawford fight in Las Vegas this Saturday Eminem was wearing a T-shirt with the “DU4LI7Y” album cover print from Ez Mil, the latest Shady Records artist.

Shady Records, Aftermath, and Interscope announced that they signed this young artist together just this week,and Eminem is already out there, representing a young talent. Ez Mil’s debut Shady records single featuring Eminem is set to drop on August 11. Three labels are also going to release a deluxe version of Ez Mil’s album “DU4LI7Y”. So, Marshall was showing off the cover of this Ez Mil’s project at the boxing arena. It was even more fitting as Ez Mil, originally from the Philippines, lives in Vegas currently.
The young artist himself was stunned by the level of support Eminem showed him. Sharing a video of Trenece Crawford walk out, Ez Mil tweeted:
