Title: Artist you knew would be big first moment you heard them, and what was the song
Post by: TraceOneInfinite on August 27, 2023, 03:35:48 AM
Ya’ll remember that old feeling that used to come around every few months back in those days that a new artist would come on and it would take like just a second or two and you’d be like “oh shit this guys gonna be big” happened to me first time I heard

Snoop (“Dre Day”),
Outkast (“Southernplaya”),
Nate (“Ain’t No Fun”)
Daz (“Doggy Dog World”)
Bone (just saw um give a pound to Eazy E and the beat at the end of Thuggish and knew they’d be big) and even artists I wasn’t a big fan of like
Master P “Heaven for a Gangsta”or
DMX “Get At Me Dog” you did kind of know instantly like oh shit this dude will be big

Kendrick - Money Trees

I didn't think Kendrick had "it" when I first heard "Weed Weather Women" with Dre.  I loved the song but more for Dre and the production than Kendrick.  I thought Knocturnal had way more "it" factor than Kendrick so Kendricks been much more successful than I thought he'd be.  He was able to pull in the liberal hippies and female fans somehow along with being talented obviously
