In the recent Whoo Kid interview at the 20:00 mark, Snoop was asked about a possible deluxe version of Missionary. A surprising alternative emerged. Apparently, the 6 tracks that didn't make the Missionary album will be compiled into an EP titled after the whiteboard list they were written on called "Shit Outta Luck."
Very interested and curious about these tracks and how they will revived a la Sticcy Situation, which was originally on that list.
Count me in.

He said it’s an idea, he definitely didn’t say it will be! Let’s not get carried away guys

Jimmy has the final say
If that's true, we don't know if he's already had a say or not. For all we know, this was already signed off on and now the information drip-feed is beginning - just like it did with Missionary.

He did indeed. That's how everything begins. We are discussing that idea is all.
Additionally, there are plenty of projects in the past that were supposed to "be" that never were. Making this announcement publicly so close to the official release of the album has strong implications. Clearly certain permissions were granted to talk about it since the amount of control around anything Dr. Dre related is structured like a government agency.

This ain't happening lol

Wouldn't it be amazing if you were wrong? What a reward you'd have. Bookmark this post just in case.
Although, the irony of this project not coming to light - considering the title of it - would be really funny.
-
hoping it sounds more like compton and less like missionary

Snoop is such a stoner lol. As much as I’d like to see this it sounds like another high story

He could achieve so much if he wasn't stoned. Imagine what the resurgence of Death Row could have been.

Hoping it doesn't sound like either of them. :lulz:

This is definitely not coming out lol.

What connection are you drawing between the resurgence of Deathrow and being stoned?
There are countless genres of entertainment - music included - where being stoned was, is and continues to be the nucleus of creativity. Family Guy is a golden example. 26 years of never missing. I mean, if we're going to make a correlation between success and being stoned, look no further.
But why stop there? One of the most successful and impactful records of all time is literally called The Chronic that launched the career of the person in question - who as it happens, has given us a ton of really good material over the last 33 years. Most recent case in point: Missionary.... On Deathrow Records.
Nevermind the business decision to buy the label you made famous to protect your legacy, restructure the finances to make sure all your friends are paid, and selflessly return The Chronic to its rightful owner.... all while stoned and having your hands in a separate laundry list of other businesses. And he's almost 60.
I have to admit, the man is winning. Bring on Shit Outta Luck.

Agreed Hopefully it has the 2 beats like the Sticky Situations I'm down

Really hope it happens, but Dre is such a bitch about releasing leftover tracks, I don't think Dre will let it happen. I hope I'm wrong though.
-
Amazing. Just missing dr dre bounce. I guess he dont do hes drums no more.

I'll do a Werner Herzog if this comes to fruition, ideas and thoughts aren't cinformed releases.

Of course they're not. But every body of work begins as an idea. And when public speaking privileges are given to certain ideas, they tend to hold more weight as tangible possibilities.
We all know how secretive and contained the walled garden that is the Dr. Dre ecosystem can be. So anything that has been given clearance to discuss publicly is usually a positive indication - especially when it's so close to the release of Missionary. Only time will tell but the songs are largely complete. This won't be a 'from scratch' project, which cuts a significant portion of time out of it. Essentially, they've already done the heavy lifting.
-
so did this turn into "iz it a crime"?
or somethin totally different??
-
They're simply never going to release these leftovers. At least not officially. Dre/Snoop won't be in a rush to put another project together after Missionary came and went.
You can close this thread basically.

Not sure how you can ask this question when you know the new album doesn't have any Dre beats/involvement. Production credits have been out there.

Denaun has 1-2 beats on the new album. No reason to believe those were part of Dre's Missionary sessions.

I don't get why artist sit on music. Just put it on streaming. You never know what the public is going to gravitate towards. They may mess around and have a hit on their hands that they didn't expect.
