I love Cat and he's produced some of the biggest and best west coast beats but he is a hair below those 2

I'd rate Battlecat over Quik. The battlecat track on any album is always the best joint usually.

I'd rate Battlecat over Quik. The battlecat track on any album is always the best joint usually.

I like Battlecat too, but just being honest, he hasn't had near the mainstream hits and involvement that Dre and DJ Quik have had.  Big time radio hits, even for nonrap stuff.  Not staying mainstream is the only metric, but Battlecat isn't there.  He's produced some good stuff for Snoop, and plenty of big and small name Westcoast rappers.  But he's not on Dre and Quik's level.

Looking at his discog, he is a lot closer to Quik, as a producer than I realized.
