Why has Dre always been foul with Warren?
-
Warren and Snoop seem to have a strange relationship. They did the Canada tour, did the Cali 2 Canada track and teased an entire album together, but Snoop seems to come and go with Warren.
I remember Warren leaving a comment on Snoop IG like "I'm waiting for the verse" for the "let me breathe" remix.. never happened.

I'm sure you have some insight with RBX.

I'm torn on Snoop just caring about Snoop.
In some instances, I can see that.
In other aspects, he's a global superstar. He hardly benefits by putting out DPG & Eastsidaz projects in 2025. He seemed to do that out of the genuine love he has for them.

Agreed. Snoop doesn't have to work another day in his life and he's set. Part of me think he's doing this because he truly enjoys it. You're right, signing Danny Boy, Eastsidaz, etc. isn't going to make him any money. I do think at this stage of his career he is doing more giving back than self promoting. I think he wanted his final Dre produced album in order to feel complete and he got it. I'm sure he'll release more albums, but the dream of him and Dre reuniting is done.
There's two sides to every story, so who knows what's up with Warren G. Like Snoop says, when he works with Dre, he's the soldier and Dre is lieutenant. When Snoop goes back to his artists, he's the general again. He swallows his pride and falls in line when he works with Dre. Maybe Warren won't do that. He doesn't want to listen to Dre or Snoop's input or do what they want, so they don't work with him.

I definitely agree that Dre takes the lead and we know he's only loyal to artists who make him money (50, Eminem).
Snoop definitely doesn't need to put out Eastsidaz, Danny Boy, etc. He does it for the love.
We'll never see a Dre/Snoop album again. I'm sure they considered Missionary to be a commercial failure.
-
I'm sure you have some insight with RBX.
i mean, snoop wouldn't even repost hibernation shivers on his page .... every once in a while he'll throw a little bone here n there, but he definitely hasn't been mindful of genuinely helpin the day 1s

he does it to bolster the death row catalogue
can't be running a label without putting out projects

Maybe cause warren g's father fucks dre ́s mom ;D

He probably had his reasons, but he should have done it for RBX.
-

I just won't agree with any opinion that indicates Snoop has selfish reasons for putting out projects by his friends that won't make him any real money.
They need Snoop, not the other way around.

it's an image thing .. a branding thing
you are delusional if u think snoop was fuckin wit danny boy because they were friends lolllllll
expenses for the albums are also tax write offs for the label
snoop doesn't have something he can put out that can make him money... matter fact, the og death row heads are the only ones who give a fuck ... so something like dogg pound makes more sense than something like jane hancock financially.

I just feel you're probably giving him too little credit. I don't think he's strictly putting out Eastsidaz for branding/image/tax write offs.
There's gotta be at least some genuine feeling there.

so what's the alternative?
to put out albums like "the altar call" compilation that no one checks? LOL
i'm not making assumptions fam.. i know the people involved on a personal level
i've seen first hand the way snoop treats his day 1s

So how does he "treat" the Eastsidaz for example? Careers left for dead if it wasn't for Snoop giving them an opportunity to put a project out on DR.

snoop didn't even promote that album lmao
i think he mighta made like 1 post on social media if that
he was at the olympics when it came out .. zero mention of it, zero marketing
i think tray deee was makin solos prior to that album that did the same numbers or better lol
so actin like snoop swooped in and saved them is absolutely false
again, snoop knows fans of death row want west coast gangsta shit.. so easy to have a seasoned group like the eastsidaz do an album real quick n put it on the label
eastsidaz not makin big bux off it .. its content to add to the catalogue for snoop and content to keep the brand goin for tray n goldie

He's not going to stop his life, especially for an album like Eastsidaz. He did film a music video for that project.
Eastsidaz were obviously very satisfied/thrilled... They wanna drop a whole album on the label next.
-
For Snoop it's a case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't"
He got Deathrow back, got the papers right, which will benefits those with credits on the projects.
Put new projects out with all of his people involved, fron Battlecast, Butch, Rage, Kuruot Eastsidaz etc....now we saying its for selfish reasons?
And if he doesn't do it, we will all still blame him for not working with them.
Unfortunately whatever he does, he can't win in everyone's eyes, I'm sure he himself will know that by now.
Tray Deee himself mentioned himself in a podcast how he's now getting paid what he deserved from 21 Jump Street after the clean up.
October London very happy with his deal with Deathrow and always have positives things to say about his situation.
Those are testamenst of people with him.
Hopefully they put the Kurupt album out this year.
After that focus on Deathrow Pictures for TV & Movies.
-

Genuine question, did/does RBX post or repost Snoop's projects? Back on Deathrow or Missionary?
And I don't think it's a big deal but if it is, shouldn't it go both ways?
I'm sure if RBX want him to post it, he will ask him to.
-
Tha Eastsidaz EP was promoted, it's Eastsidaz project released on Deathrow, Got Guap to do a decent mini movie for it, with 3 good music videos posted on Snoop YouTube page.
Fuzzy The Connector who works for Deathrow was getting Goldie & Tray Deee on different radio stations and Podcasts to promote the Ep.
What more do we expect from a label to do for an EP?

Facts, especially one they know is for a small niche audience.

So it's his job to put his rep on the line for projects that he might not be feeling? I agree with helping your friends, but I also have friends who have made music and I'm likely not gonna promote it unless I actually like it, and I'm nowhere near famous, whereas I'd guess we'd say Snoop is kind of a big deal.

Dre in his heyday with 2001 and Eminem.. produce a Warren G single/remix for his third album a remix yes but the biggest single off the album with a video it featured Snoop & Nate Dogg with Xzibit (hottest out at that time in
The West). The album was a straight flop… Jimmy didn’t like Dre involved with Flops that didn’t sell a million or more
Dre produced the lead single off Warren album now for the 4th album big budget video Dre’s name as big as Warrens on promotion sheets in The Source and the single .. album a flop
Snoop was on every Warren album after he left death row … good or bad he was on them .. but they flopped too
Respectfully Warren is dope and I love the dudes music and I’ve seen him a few times live he does even better at shows and even with out Nate Dogg he represents him well…
But Snoop and Dre have surpassed their legacy and peers and the music they did … performing at National Event doesn’t always involve the homies .. Snoop gave Warren a ticket to the Super Bowl , but couldn’t get him back stage … damn how many damn handouts you want you ain’t pay for the tickets and it ain’t the first interview Warren admits he gets tickets to the Super Bowl from Snoop..
Shit you want to be everywhere they are Make some music! He has been scarce with music his whole career and don’t give me that quality control shit, he don’t release music or beats period .. the same can be said for Quik but Quik releases music produced for people and mixed and writes and collaborates he is all over Wiz Khalifas new album and he has even done Snoop albums behind the scenes as well!
Get to Work bro stop acting like a homeboy or a little brother and be a man and a musician!
Grown ass men complaining about not hanging out ? Shit they recorded 80% of the vocals and writing with Dre and snoop in the same studio in two weeks the rest was a Dre production.. I highly doubt anything after that was involving Dre and Snoop chilling around smoking or snorting like they used to with bitches around …
Grow up Warren your homies have and your big brother who ain’t related to you outside marriage …

rbx doesn't have a following like snoop .. reposting missionary won't do a thing for the album
when we dropped hibernation shivers rbx sent multiple invites to snoop to co-author posts and he left it on seen instead of accepting
rbx did songs for snoops failure nft project .... didn't see a dime for it ... rbx did a song and video for the dpg project .... he still has to scrap for money at the end of each month just to pay rent
snoop does projects that benefit the label .. he doesn't help take care of his day 1s from a financial perspective like a real boss CEO would.

snoop loved hibernation shivers
it's the reason he brought butch cassidy back in the mix with dpg

"he doesn't help take care of his day 1s from a financial perspective like a real boss CEO would" - This is absolutely laughable! Real CEOs are abso-fucking-lutely cutthroat and don't give one fuck about their employees. They run them through the ringer and use and abuse them and then lay them off. What kind of world do you live in? There is a major hate for CEOs by the working population.
There is plenty that I don't like about snoop, but this is ridiculous to say he hasn't taken care of people. Is it snoop's responsibility to make every acquaintance of his rich? At some point, RBX needs to be accountable for his own life. I mean, look at Daz. Daz hustled w/ the music game and I'm sure is much wealthier than RBX. All the while he has been off and on beefing w/ snoop for nearly 30 years. Daz made it without snoop holding his hand through his career. Anyone from DR could have done the same.
Was RBX contracted to do songs for the NFT project and get paid? Was he paid what he was contracted for on the DPG album?
If RBX was contracted to be paid a certain dollar amount, and he wasn't paid, then that's on snoop. If RBX wasn't contracted to get paid a certain dollar amount, then that's on RBX. At the end of the day, is this your hobby, or is this your career?

say what u will bout suge, but he took care of everyone when he was runnin death row
another thing snoop was supposed to do when he took over death row was fix the situation on albums like the chronic so artists like rbx could get paid their share... still hasn't been handled
there's a lot going on that cats like u on the outside lookin in wouldn't understand
snoop and rbx are family .. so when snoop hits up rbx and says "yo cuzz i need some music off you for this project.. ima take care of u" .. then can't even do a verse on gp for his album in return, let alone pay him
what do u call that?
pac called it out early on ... some cats take care of the ones that helped them come up. and some let them starve. everything rbx ever got he had to get himself. he made more money from the independent labcabin singles than he did from the singles he did for snoop. that's not embarrassing?
-
How do you know Snoop liked Hibernation Shivers?
-
I'm amazed by some of the delusional responses here with respect to Snoop and his interactions with his artists and/or original collaborators. He has already shown that he is only interested in Snoop and the Snoop brand. He uses the original Death Row members to continue to keep the OG fans interested but does not really care about helping the original members. Tax write offs and still keeping 'street muscle' is basically where Snoop is at in this stage.
-
Snoop's Career is interesting.
From the beginning (since Tha Doggfather) he showed that he sucks at picking up beats for his songs. He doesnt know how to pick the right singles to push and promote his albums, I'll even say that ''Bitch Please'', ''Beautiful'' and ''Drop it like its hot'' saved his solo career.
As a CEO, he sucks even more, first he is afraid to invest and put money on his artists; Many times he had the opportunity to bring new talents and have them under his wings but failed. He would always say ''I can only open the door, but its for you to do the work, you have to get out there'' which led to artists not gettting the proper push and getting dropped.
Look at LaToiya Williams, she had major potential she was known as the younger version of Aretha Franklin. Her album was ready and the hype was there. But he didnt take advantaged and got dropped.
Also using DAH DAH as a videographer was not the brightest decision.

This is the gayest post ever! This forum is dead. Ban me

How do you know Snoop liked Hibernation Shivers?
because rbx played it for him and snoop said it was classix

There's two sides to every story, so who knows what's up with Warren G. Like Snoop says, when he works with Dre, he's the soldier and Dre is lieutenant. When Snoop goes back to his artists, he's the general again. He swallows his pride and falls in line when he works with Dre. Maybe Warren won't do that. He doesn't want to listen to Dre or Snoop's input or do what they want, so they don't work with him.
I think this might be it you know. I heard an interview the other day of Warren complaining that when he did a track with Dre, he was locked in there with him for 3 days re-recording the same lines over and over. Completely different attitude to when Snoop talks about how he loves being directed by Dre.
Would make sense why they've recorded such a tiny amount of music together

lot of this stuff is just plain laughable.
To me, outside of a few projects, Dr. Dre hasn’t ever shown much interest in working with Warren G. Why is that? Maybe it’s to make his half-brother work for it and make his own way. And he did. Hit songs, hit albums, etc. Now is it cool that he didn’t get special VIP access at the Super Bowl? I guess not, but I don’t know their relationship. I don’t know how closed of a circle it was, or whether the place was filled with a bunch of hangers on. But that’s between them.
Now, Warren and Snoop? Honestly. Snoop has kept Warren relevant for much longer than he otherwise woulda been. Warren was basically done as far as mainstream music goes, when? Probably around the turn of the century, right? But there is Snoop doing a 213 album with him (and Nate Dogg). Or shoot, that commercial from a year or two ago (maybe longer, idk) where it was Snoop with Warren. Now maybe I’m wrong, but isn’t it very likely that Warren got this big time commercial not because of himself, because it’s his buddy Snoop Doggy Dogg helping him out? I doubt companies are knocking down Warren’s door to get him involved in promoting their products. Now don’t get me wrong, I like Warren G, but he’s nowhere near a bankable star anymore. One recent TV appearance of his that I remember (and it may actually NOT have been that recent) was him going on The Eric Andre show. And if any of you aren’t sure, The Eric Andre Show is a place where mostly C or D list celebrities go when their manager doesn’t realize what they are getting their client into. Another sign Warren has fallen the fuck off, is how he made an album in ‘01 called The Return of the Regulator and then an EP called Regulate ... G Funk Era Part II. What's next? Still Regulatin'?
