Fantastic album. Pusha and Malice are 48 and 52, and both rap flawlessly throughout. I’ve never been a huge Pharrell or Clipse fan, but this album is easily the best rap album so far this year.
Highlights:
So Be It (wtf is this best?! Incredible song)
EDITBA (I had no idea Pharrell could produce like this)
FICO
Chains and Whips (Kendrick MUrDERs this with the uncharacteristic wordplay)
Birds Don’t Sing (each brother raps about their recent parents deaths)
Aside from the first track, this album is as hard as bricks. Straight rhymes (mainly about coke lol, but they do explore other topics, especially Malice).
8/10

One of my favorite songs off the album :'(

I didn't feel it at all at first spin. Maybe listen to it again when i have really nothing to do.
-
Beats are wack. Souple of them is cool, but rest is garbage. Pusha and malice sounded good. Malice pen is crazy.
-
Album of the year and nothing has come close tbh.

Literally can't fathom having this opinion. There isn't another living, breathing producer who could've have produced this Clipse album better than Pharrell did.

Co-sign this, Clipse always delivers.. Pharrell brought the heat here!

at least top 3!
Pharrell did it without Chad.
I did NOT think, just hope this before...

These guys just showed the rest of the vets the blueprint:
Stick to your original sound and just update it slightly.
While I enjoyed the Snoop and Dre album and still am listening to some tracks, they should’ve given the fans what we all wanted (a mix of that Deathrow and early 2000s aftermath sound). That shit is a layup.
This Clipse album rivals the final Tribe album to me as an example of how a veteran group can be relevant in the modern era if they put out quality shit and stick to what the OG fans want.

off top

xzibit and snoop both went in a whole nother direction unfortunately

That project is a great comeback album!

Another thing that helps with the Clipse project is marketing and promotion, this was backed by ROC Nation but its a great body of work.
The DPG project doesn't have reply value unfortunately, the only song that I still play from this album is HOUSE PARTY, the rest of it sounds forced.
Snoop: Iz it a Crime as much more replay value than Missionary, in my opinion. It seems like every project that Dre is involved in doesnt reach as it should, Anderson Paak did the same thing he released a project shortly after the Dre one, Cordae did the same thing, Marsha Flopped, Busta flopped and Rakim got shelved. NOT MAKING THIS a DR.DRE post.

This album is literally the definition of an instant classic.
-
It is overhyped. It is a good album. SOme wack beats.

What are the “wack” beat? To me, the album falls off on the last three songs, BUT the first ten more than deliver…give this album a 90s classic type of feel.

I will give cube and Daz props for attempting to do some music their OG fans will appreciate, but quality wise they ain’t seeing this Clipse album. The attention to detail on the production and lyrics is immaculate. Most of the hooks are great too (I don’t love a few of the Pharrel ones, but it’s so good to hear rappers do hooks- Pusha t’s hooks are underrated)
And I’ll be honest, I’ve never liked a Clipse album or Pharrells production much at all

Only beats that I like are "So be it" and Chains and whips.

Those are crazy good beats- can’t believe Pharrell had those in him. Don’t sleep on RICO though. That one has grown on me crazy. EDITBA too.

instant classic album of the year! I've been saying Malice is nicer than Pusha and if you don't think so JUST LISTEN....

Malice the big bro…a bit more introspection than you get from Pusha. I think Pusha has the more scathing voice but Malice got him on lyrics too. Malice probably has the best 4 verses on this album

We’re halfway through the year and I only have 1 album for my top 10 list in December so far and it’s this one.
