I Miss Tha Vaultz FTP THC Days..
Can We Expect Any Leaks?
-
stuff has been, and will continue to leak but you really have to pay a decent price for it. Since only a few people pay for it, I don't think it gets leaked like the old days.
-
There isn't a whole lot left honestly. And the big ticket items (Next Episode, Endonesia, Pac stuff, etc.) aren't leaking any time soon.
Now that AI is prevalent, i'd question any sort of 'demo mix' or 'alternate mix' as it's so easy to strip a track of a drum layer or add certain elements to a track. We used to get a bunch of demo mixes or rough mixes, which were interesting from a historical perspective, but all of that stuff is going to be met with major suspicion nowadays.
For the most part, the old Death Row stuff has run dry.
-
Judging by the inventor list there must be shitload of undergro7nd stuff left.

I’d love to see what’s still unreleased from that list. As last time i looked, most had been leaked. Many of those songs on the list are just songs listed under a different name.
-
I think there is still a lot that is unreleased and wasn't on lists. Bomb1st would release projects with some of this music. There are people out there with the music, but they don't have much interest in leaking it unless people will pay for it.
For example, the song "Smoke" released on DPG 2002 has a different version with an extra kurupt verse.

That list was supposed to include every song Death Row owned in conjunction with the bankruptcy filing assets.
Death Row artists that recorded at other studios or for other people's albums, those wouldn't be on the list naturally. So i'm sure there are plenty of songs done by Death Row artists around that time floating around. Like if Daz recorded a song for E-40's album over at Sic Wit It, is that an unreleased Death Row song? I would say no, but if you're wanting unreleased material from any artist who happened to be signed to DR at the time a song was made, then yeah, there's probably some of that material still floating around.

I know almost everyone is for 2pac dre snoop circle but i would enjoy the underground tracks
There is shxtload of songs by lesser known acts.

The album of Murder IV Hire guys (Bloods) a couple of music vids like 68 and i owe you one (Jewell's band), Back in bed again (Jewell), Wit Me Tonite (Jewell & Storm) , probably others.
, The Chronic Tour Live footage (halted quickly due to Snoop's murder case) that woul be killer on Bluray

Before Snoop and company took over at DRR it seemed like Mgmt was preparing various releases. I forget the heavy set dude that was going live on DRR Instagram but he kept saying they wanted to make sure the artists got paid...
I'd love for a huge box set to be released with various rarities etc. I'd love to get a copy of Price Ital Joe's album that leaked. To me, one thing that is helping the record industry is nostalgia. There is no reason they shouldn't be dropping some of the older music unless there are rights issues. Hell this DRR from the WIDEawake days is super rare https://www.discogs.com/release/2024919-Various-The-Ultimate-Death-Row-Collection?srsltid=AfmBOooUszGX369vLWfmeXCmozr_sBjx2DKyKt86cVPmJJLfL2SS9bhG --- why not drop stuff like this that true fans would buy and then it just helps streaming as its a new release back at the top of streaming apps.. which leads people to stream it and eventually roll into "like" music after the album/compilation finishes.

There’s just no money in it. Even mainstream artists don’t make much on physical sales. It’s touring and licensing that bring in the money.
Seriously, how much money do you think an OFTB album would bring in these days after they pay for mixing/mastering, sample clearances, artists, etc.?? I get it that as a fan you want this, but this is a business and there’s just no money in it. They can’t release the Pac stuff or Dre stuff due to legalities. It’s just not going to happen.
-
@ Soopafly DPGC - I don’t disagree … I realize it more than likely isn’t going to happen but I also didn’t have Interscope dropping a longbox CD of The Chronic for Record Store Day in 2023 either. Ironically it was to celebrate the 30th anniversary but came out almost 31 years after the release date. But I am more than happy that so much music dropped during the WIDEawake days (maybe even right before when Suge still had control) and is avail on streaming. I have a playlist of a ton of later DRR releases including: 20 to Life Vol. 1 Rare and Dangerous, 20 to Life Vol 2 Rare and Dangerous, Escape from Death Row (I don’t think this was a DRR release), 2Pac Nu-Mixx (not my fav), Death Row - The Lost Sessions Vol. 1, Kurupt Against Tha Grain, OFTB Damn Near Dead, Tha Dogg Pound Doggy Bag, Kurupt Down and Dirty, Above the RIM maxi single tracks (before Snoop got DRR the previous regime pushed hard to have this released and it was FINALLY added to streaming), Tha Dogg Pound 2002, The Legendary Sam Sneed Street Scholars, Jewell’s self titled album, The Very Best of Death Row, etc. I know I am missing a few but for any DRR fan, WIDEawake did a lot of justice by dropping some gems.
* I am a firm believer that nowadays any project, other than super well known artists, are essentially a write-off for said company. Hell I was super surprised Snoop and team dropped a physical copy of WAWG. When they do you always hear "this is for the true fans" so what's that mean for all the non physical album releases lol.
* In an interview recently I had Brad Jordan, better known as Scarface, stated 1,000,000 streams pays $4,000 (anyone know how accurate this is?). Imagine a well put together album, by a lesser known artist, even making back enough to pay the Engineers, artists, etc., etc.
* In this video by @Damizza the other day he does a great job covering Luminate's report. Nostalgia... at the end of his report here is key - https://www.instagram.com/p/DNxpaGqYsZc/?igsh=MWJ3Z2xvYjJzcXYzZQ==
* A lot of what the industry is selling these days is NOT new music which Damizza continues to reinforces in his videos. A&R isn’t what it use to be and people do not consume music the same way they did in the past in terms of new artists (it seems). I am not hating on it myself but I still buy physical albums to supports artists I like (Snoop, Xzibit, Dre, etc.)
Getting back to the discussing of releasing legacy music…
* 187 isn't avail to stream for instances... since it is owned by SOLAR. Colin Wolfe has mentioned that Snoop is looking into acquiring that track. You could argue.. why spend any money on it.. streaming doesn't pay.. yada yada yada.. but it is the legacy of the song. Snoop/Dre's first commercial collab.. I'd argue why even drop 30th anniversary Doggystyle, Dr. Dre 30th anniversary Chronic in black jacket release for 2,5000 units .. vinyl is expensive to press.... those limited releases are just helping, in the grand scene of things, to hit sales numbers for said year.
Hell, even if we don't get any further releases, I am happy with my collection so far. I have a few more releases to obtain to try and complete my collection. Mostly during the WIDEawake days as I was not buying as many CDs in that era. Luckily they are plentiful online such as eBay etc.
Lastly, I was disappointed there was no official physical release of BODR. I guess at some point Snoop will prob have copies made (I recall another album of his that was never avail on vinyl or something like that was released on vinyl years later) but we will see.
Peace,
Jason ODB

People like Dre and Snoop have a brand. So if they put money into something like buying the rights of Deep Cover, or putting out a 30th anniversary album, it is basically like an advertising expense for themselves. They have a lot of income streams these days, and so they can do things like this to keep their names relevant.
Someone like Prince Ital Joe doesn't have brand recognition. He is RIP and has no other income streams. Investing in his music would lose money. Same with all the other lesser known acts.

There's a difference between doing something like creating a Chronic longbox or a colored vinyl of Doggystyle. It's old music in different packaging. All of the cost of the music has already been taken care of. It's easy money. This is much different than taking a bunch of unmixed reels from Bloody Mary and mixining it into an album and marketing it and paying for all the clearances.
Yes, WideAwake did release some stuff, which i'm very appreciative of, even if it was hated on for being poorly mixed and mastered. BUT, again, they made no money on those sales. That Danny Boy album sold what? Like 2,000 copies? That probably didn't even cover the cost of production. There's a reason WideAwake isn't in business anymore.
Trust me, there are smart people in this world. If people thought there was money to be made in the unreleased Death Row catalog, it would have been done already.

Thats why i asked leak not release.
Yall still mix up the sales dont matter in music we listen to
was never meant to be mainstream

The easy to get stuff has already been leaked. The rare stuff that people paid big $$$ for will most likely never be leaked. If you paid $5,000+ for a song (and I know for a fact people have), you would not be leaking it for free.
Your best hope is these leakers who share things between each other get into a fight and they leak each other's stuff to be petty. That's how most of these bigger leaks over the years have happened.
Like I said though, i'm pretty in the loop on what's floating around out there, and I can tell you, besides a couple of really big ticket songs, there isn't much out there worth listening to that hasn't been leaked as far as Death Row material goes.

Take a look at the investory list
I'm wondering if maybe you aren't aware of everything that has been leaked already. I've gathered tons of stuff over the years and I can't remember what all was made public and what all is still semi guarded and songs you kinda have to dig for. But i can tell you, at least 75% of the inventory list has been leaked, and a good 10%-15% of the list are just renamed songs or misidentified songs and aren't actual standalone "new" songs.
For example, there's a song listed as "Why" by 2Pac, and it's been proven that it was actually the song WHY by Nate Dogg from the Gridlock'd soundtrack that was mislabeled on the inventory list and not an unreleased 2pac track. There's a bunch of examples of things like this from the list.

Trust me i know the inventory.
Im not talking about misidentified or mislabeled songs.
Im not talking about lesser known artists
All those soundtrack artists have put in major work
Not talking about Pac DPG stuff but more underground
It would be too many to mention

Let's debate.
Here's the Inventory List:

Facts:
Over 1,000 songs and I mean a literal thousand songs - are missing from the inventory vault with 2Pac vocals. Erotic D's album is missing; bomb album. Sneed's other album is missing. Plus Dr. Dre's The Chronic 2 Sessions and The D.O.C. - Eyez. So, there's plenty of unleaked stuff out there; you just got to find the right person.

Wow over 1,000 Death Row era Pac songs still unreleased. Haha someone must’ve fell for all those fake song lists. Songs like Thug Passion 2 and Murder Mah Enemiez. Right?
-
I get it. I'm letting it rest. I never thought there was a ton of money to be made - I wasn't the person who posted the original thread. Sounds like you were the person that convinced Snoop that when he tried to get everyone to pay hundreds for the Death Row NFT to listen to the old catalog. I believe that was his son's idea telling him that NFTs were the next big thing. I don't really care if they release anything in the future. I have all the original releases myself.

Its more like 300 songs - once you realize they're only one 2Pac verse and the same BPM over and over again. Thug Passion 2 was never proven real but some of the other songs off Makaveli and Dillinger were.

How exactly were the others proven to exist? I've never heard snippets for any of the songs from those crazy lists. Could you post up the snippets as 'proof' they exist?

Well, I heard them with my own ears. All of these are posthumous remixes of unheard songs. Like for example, there is at least 16 tracks that feature Warlord, 2Pac, and Petey Pablo on the same beat as Komradz or similar. I do not feel comfortable with posting them.

OK, so these are all just cheap ass remixes of existing Pac songs, which there are literally 10's of thousands of on youtube. Don't bother posting any of that crap. Yeah, you could turn out hundreds of Komradz remixes every day if you wanted.

Not exactly. What I'm saying is - the vocals are unheard for both artist but it seems Suge Knight was chopping up vocals to make extra songs with the Death Row artist. Like he'd take a 3 verse 2Pac solo - make it into three separate songs with a different artist on each one.
-

Going off the inventory list alone there is a fuck ton that hasn't leaked, but much of it is not from the main Death Row artists. And yes, i know what's been leaked already.

I know the demand is higher for major artists but i wouldnt mind any leaks from those underground cats..

Nothing substantial has leaked recently. That’s what i’m trying to tell you. Why do you think after so many years being flooded with leaks that now there’s nothing coming? The material is drying up. The leakers haven’t gone anywhere.
Used to be able to do group buys and source material that way. But people aren’t paying hundreds of dollars for Bloody Mary and Jazzmatix leaks. Gotta have a few big names in the group of songs to get people to want to contribute.

His post says, "That's what I have from the vaults."
I don't really think that he meant that he literally has that music, but I thought I would ask. If he is referring to it as that is what the records show, then I'm curious if he could show the records. 6 albums worth of unreleased Dre material is crazy. I wonder how he came to that - like if track names are there.

So much of this is incorrect
-
So much of this is incorrect
I know. These people live in a pipe dream fairy tale world where they think thousands upon thousands of songs are still out there unleaked even though they have no concrete proof. Artists who were signed for a very short time have multiple mixed and mastered albums in the vault and were making hundreds of songs a day with producers making hundreds of beats a day. I just let them dream. It’s fruitless to argue facts with them.

I do remember rumors back in the day that Death Row was interested in Adina Howard. I think there is some truth to that one at least.

So much of this is incorrect
Dude is just constantly making up stuff. It’s annoying and not productive.

Ask Suge about these songs. He stole from the vault and didn't tell Afeni. I've heard unheard verses that I can't explain. From the songs I've heard, these came from his collection. There was tons of 2Pac, Lakey The Kidd, Warlord, Compton Flame, 6Pac, Squeak Ru, AP 9, K9 and LA Prada material left from the second/third generation.

Compton Flame 6 Pac Or LA Prada never released anything
All we know is their Name..

You've heard unheard 2Pac verses that you can't explain because you were dreaming. You haven't heard anything that we all haven't heard already.
And why would Suge need to tell Afeni about songs he "stole" from Warlord, Lakey the Kidd or Compton flame? Makes no sense, stop trolling these naive people here who will run off and believe all this stuff you're saying.

He's not telling about the songs he stole from them. I'm telling you Suge has a ton of one verse 2Pac songs laying around that he didn't tell Afeni about and those songs were used by other artist on Death Row even though the songs never came out. Compton Flame, Warlord, Lakey The Kid, all added vocals to unheard 2Pac songs that were one verse making the songs two verses.

Not true...the Pac verses used for some of those songs were all from leaked songs or songs that have since been released. None of these songs have unheard 2Pac vocals.

Wheres
Hugg
Murder IV Hire
Danny Boy
Young Soldierz
Jewell
Michel'le
B-Rezell
Wheres their material then?
All leaked?
-
Yes....tons of Jewell and Danny Boy stuff has leaked.
How long do you think it takes for a producer to make a fully mixed track?
I get in your head, you think these rappers and other artists can come into a studio and whip out 5 or 6 songs a day, and lyrically that may be possible. But do you think producers were in the studio producing and mixing hundreds of tracks a week for all these rappers and singers to lay down lyrics so there's thousands of unreleased songs laying around? Death Row had a core group of in house producers that were making tracks for multiple artists. There is no way they could've kept up with the amount of songs that you think are sitting in the vaults, even after the multiple hundreds of songs that have already been leaked.

What about others i mentioned? Same scenario

Murder IV Hire is drained I think as far as material. That you've gotten all you will ever get because that's all that exists are far as them.
As far as Hugg, he follows me on Instagram.
Danny Boy had a few leaks a few months ago.
Jewell - she has plenty of material left.
Michel'le - Plenty of material.
B-Rezzell - None of their stuff has ever leaked.

This is what's left of the vaults - that Suge may have copies of but didn't steal the reel or tape. He has thousands of songs that aren't in the vault from artists such as Snoop Dogg, Compton Flame, 2Pac, Danny Boy, J-Flexx, Dr. Dre, Sam Sneed, LA Prada, Lakey The Kidd, Petey Pablo, Eastwood, Crooked I, NINA bka Left Eye, Big Foot, Kurupt, and more.
If you don't believe me, where is Westcoasnostra or Dysfunktional Family on these master lists? This is the same master list as shown in Death Row Chronicles Intro when they show the video of the reels.

Track 9 of Warlord's completed Death Row album has 2Pac, Warlord, and Salim (Who was also signed to Death Row in 2005/2006) all on one song. Plus, Warlord did a ton with Petey Pablo.

I quote:
"Things were looking up for the group in 1994 when they got signed to Death Row Records by Suge Knight. However the recording process slowed down in 1995 when Big Jake was shot by a person with a semiautomatic weapon and died 2 weeks later in a hospital. The album was scheduled to be released in 1996 but was never released due to the death of 2Pac and label politics. Someone leaked a few of their songs from that album to the internet in 2008. However the entire album was never leaked fully."

I wanna hear Jazzmatix stuff!
Even had a Song with Brandy.

Yup, that song had 2Pac's verse from Komrades on it. Heard it, it sucked, nothing special. If i remember correctly, the verse wasn't even on beat.

No you don't, it's awful. If Jazzmatix weren't briefly signed to Death Row, you'd have no interest in them at all. There's plenty of other artists in that genre or style you could listen to. You only think they would be amazing songs because they were signed to Death Row...that's it.
The song is on youtube right now. It's called DejaVu feat. Brandy. Go listen to it and tell me how bomb and amazing you think this song is and how their album would've sold millions if it would have been released.

What 2Pac verse did they use?
A random unheard. With Komradez, you're thinking about that Petey Pablo song from Death Row that uses it.

Ah yes you're right, i was thinking of that Petey Pablo song, I stand corrected.

Sure but the demand for that stuff is so low, it makes it unlikely we’ll ever hear it.
And this is what those hoarding the unreleased DR material don't understand. They paid a good amount for it without realizing the demand for that material is only going to decline due to those people getting older and younger generations not caring about the Death Row era. Before B1 closed the forums I think they were looking at a 2k a year subscription for the material, which is absolutely insane because that material isn't worth however many people who actually pay that much. Like "Ghetto Star" being leaked; it sounds like a rough cut of the version that dropped on Better Dayz in perfect quality.
