Dont U think albums are a lot better when it aint got a different producer for every track.
It's ok to have a few different producers sometimes but I think that the albums what sound the most polished are the one's with just 1 or 2 Producers.
-
Agreed. The way Rakim used to do with Eric B.
-
Word. Its a lot better with a producer or 2 on an album...the whole album has a better flow to it...IMO
-
Yeah, I agree. An album sounds much more consistant when just 1 or 2 producers are handling the production.
-
Dependz. Lyke on a Kurupt alBum I would want Dre, Daz, Fred Wrekk, Battlekat & Bink. On a Snoop alBum I would want juss Dre.
-
that's exactly the way it should be, only 1 or 2 or maybe 3 producers on an album, albums use to be like that back in the day >:(
-
the problem is that there is too much producers around

Defo agreed.

Thas true....things in rap have changed, and it's many reasons y it's harder to just have one or two producers.
It usually works out better with just one or two, but the thing is with somebody like Dre, he has so many people he works with, it would take hella time for him to do almost all the beats...and sometimes u get tired of one producer's sound the whole album unless every beat is heat...Mannie Fresh did all the songs on all Cash money albums (I think) but only 4-5 beats would stand out, and u got tired of the same exact sound.
Quik did it with Suga Free and Classic 220, and that was tite. But even with him, it would be hard to focus all energy on one project because of the demand for people to work with him.
