Title: Mase Discussion Thread
Post by: TraceOneInfinite on June 24, 2026, 05:34:59 PM
Everyone wants to hate Puffy, but if you look at everything that went into that setup for Mase and that debut album that shit was fire!!  I mean this dude is kind of a wierdo if you see him on that show with Camron.  He had a nice little distinct flow and melodic voice, some style and charisma with his dress, and Puffy found a way to milk it for everything it's worth.

That's why you have to be fair with people.  You can't judge them on just one bad quality.  Puffy as done a lot of gay shit, but give credit where it was do for the production quality of those albums that Bad Boy was turning out because Puffy was overseeing all that and putting all the pieces together.

For sure. Heavy samples and interpolations were hot for a while. Puffy capitalized. Just like Kanye capitalized on the sped up sample vibe for a while there.

watch some clips of his podcast show with him and Camron and you will be like, "Damn, Puff is a genius if he made that dork double platinum"

agreed that Mase was trash.. this is more of a thread giving Puff the credit for his success!!

Black Rob had 2 insane over the top bangers!  That joint that was on the Slam soundtrack "I Dare You" is deadly.  "Woah" was a banger also.  And there was one other nice joint he did on his album, but I forget it
