I likes the single, both Battlecat's west-coast licked beat and Kurupt's rappin over it...Snoop vocals on the hook duties is a bonus.
As for the vid, standard hood hos and a few rented low-riders, well at least it's not the dreaded A.I. slop.
-
Scoe up in this too! Dope better and better sounds coming can't wait to hear more

I wish they had a creative team, this type of visual is played out. Good song tho
-
Wow this single is DOPE
-
Simple but Westcoast feel type of video.
But kept a smile on my face seeing Kurupt move around the screen doing his thing.
Very good song but just happy to see Kurupt like this in 2026 🙌🏾🙌🏾
-
Nice
-
dope
glad they went back to the drawing board after the previous attempt
-
Real dope single and video, Kurupt looks good in the video, so glad the legend is back!!!
-
better than "special" but it is also not that special, good but not so dope or a banger.
but my expectations are higher when it comes to Battlecat.
these first 2 singles will be good fillers for album, i hope there are real bangers and hits.
-
I like it...dope beat and Kurupt rides it well
good to see him looking healthier too after that stroke
-
Good to see Kurupt coherent for a change.

Hard AF 8)
Best song I've heard from him since Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha days. The comeback is real lol.

better than space boogie?
i like it, but damn lol

Space Boogie was tight dude, hell yeah. Personally, there's more of the sound I like on Streetz so if I had to choose I'd go with that album.
But alright, I'd say it's his best since the 1999-2001 era. Sounds like it belongs there.
-
Battlecat absolutely crushed this

He must be trolling

speaking of Space Boogie what happened to Fred Wreck's production the last few years?
he did such a great job of copying Dre's sound back then I guess he followed in his footsteps by falling off lol

jellyroll is better

Jellyroll is very much hit or miss to me...for instance on Last Meal, "Wrong Idea" was a banger...but "I Cant Swim" might be my least favorite Snoop track lol

don't get it twisted i think prime fred was a force to be reckoned with
but not on that top tier level
-
wow a decent song and video from kurupt?!

You are saying it because he is anti-semitic )
whatever he is, he is one of the best west coast producers. he is multi-intrumentalist, mix engineer, beatmaker, producer..
he made a lot of west coast anthem songs, i think he is almost underrated.

lol naah like i said, i think his beats are dope
and i know you're a huge fan ... but i think u overrate him way too much
his best shit to me was space boogie .. the dre imitation shit .. outside of that, he has dope beats here n there, but nothing groundbreaking

Space Boogie was his best work
in fact everything he's done with Tha Dogg Pound is pretty much classic
his inconsistency is why I cant put him in the same sentence as Battlecat or Quik let alone Dre
I would put him below Daz as well
but I definitely like him

What era is ‘Prime Fredwrefk' though?
FW has been in putting work since his introduction.

early 2000s

Fredwreck got hits in the pop world as well.

Not even close. But it is a nice song. Best one in a long time.
-
This is nice, but am I the only one who liked Special? I thought that song was a little better than this one. Both are nice tho.

Nope, not only one, inlove that song, BC and Blaqthoven killed it
-

no way someone is saying this joint is better than those 4-5 MEGA-BANGERS on Space Boogie. To me, that album is Fred Wreck's magnum opus. Kurupt could just do his half-freestyle bullshit verses he probably spent only a few minutes on and it still sounded banging over those beats.
-
This single is definitely better than Special. Special was alright, but this one is amazing!

Special was dope
I actually had to go back and listen to it again

I wrote the press bio for the album and it's dope... mind you, this was a while back and I think it's gone through a couple iterations since I first heard it. What I heard included "Sneak Attacc" and was a lot more in the spirit of that track than "Special."
On the Fredwreck topic... feels like working in-house with Dre and Aftermath has been his primary focus for the past several years.
-
Has 'Tales from the Hood' been renamed?

Good to hear the album sounds more like Sneak Attac

Special is good too, a bit more matured vibe, which is not a bad thing.
Sneak Attacc is a bit better for me, because all the elements fits and have that summer vibe we used to from Cat & Kurupt.
Let's get live with Kurupt!

Good to know.
Can you give us some more clue from what you heard? Like features on the album?
-
Any idea if the album will be released and when?
