Title: Colin Wolfe interview Uncovering the Chronic Sound
Post by: BJV on July 17, 2026, 06:13:47 AM
Came across this on YouTube today. Not sure if this had been posted before I couldn't find it.

Interesting watch talking about the recording of The Chronic, showing the sounds used on G Thang. Also some NWA stuff

When they show the Yamaha SY77 I was like wait I have sounds from that in the UVI Synth Anthology plugin that I just got 2 weeks ago. So I immediately checked that out and sadly it does not have the flute but it has strings and a dope lead that sounds kind of g-funkish.

kind of on the same wave but I also saw an interview with Mike Elizondo recently

seems like a lot of ex Dre producers are still doing their thing while he's stuck with a current inferior team

going to see Colin Wolfe perform with the All-Star Funk group at Harvelles in Santa Monica led to one of my greatest nights in life that I will always remember that night. Shock G made an impromptu visit to this venue during funk night as well

across town Dam-Funk was also doing his funk night, Those would be too guys worthwhile putting in the studio together :banderas:
