Title: 2pac and Dogg Pound Historic Cleveland AEOM promo concert being unearthed
Post by: TraceOneInfinite on July 25, 2026, 05:13:24 PM
There was one full video of it on YouTube but it's from a horrible angle.

Recently, though, they have somehow unearthed a better camera angle or enhanced old footage and it's slowly being brought back to life.  From the clips I've been seeing on Facebook it looks legendary.

The set is dope with Dogg Pound headlining with Pac at the height of "New York, New York" making its run on YoMTVRaps and climbing to double platinum

Picture this: one clip I just saw has 2pac riding the lowrider bike backing up the Dogg Pound on stage and throwing up the W as they perform:

"I'm on top of the world
With niccaz wit perms and Jerry curls..."

This is shameful this isn't getting more love at the forum.  I'm not sure you all realize what is happening here.  This was the pinnacle of rap.   These songs they are debuting like "Ambitionz of a Ridah" had not even been released yet, it was likely the first time the public was hearing these tracks.

Not to mention this is the height of Death Row because it is January and Dre is still at the label.  They have just released "California Love" and it is blowing up everywhere!

If you wait another couple months Dre disappears and Snoop, Dogg Pound, are never the same after that (It turns out that 2pac was even larger than Dre or anyone else at the label because he drops 7 Day Theory recording in the "wack room" without any of these guys), because several months later 2pac is murdered and Suge in jail

...and then we are stuck with everyone saying Jay-Z is the greatest from that point forward.  So this is the pinnacle here when Death Row was #1

there's also the Cleveland/Bone backstory going on here as well, because if Death Row is number 1 then right behind them is Bone.  East99 was an even bigger album than Dogg Food and when "Crossroads" comes out in 96' it will be the biggest song in rap history

I agree with you 100 percent 8)

I'm assuming most of the members on the forum are also from that era so there is really no excuse especially when you are dealing with all these legends Pac. Bone, Dogg Pound

Somebody post the backstory with Bone from this night?

Was it the trip to Cleveland when Pac recorded "Thug Luv"

Or there was still beef?

So post it then. Then we'll say it's a big deal. You talking about it means nothing.
