Interesting. I actually agree - I think it's entirely possible that this album will never see the light of day. I honestly wouldn't be at all surprised if that was the case.

Big albums tend to come out in November, so i'm thinking they'll easily have finished it by then, work on his promotion maybe mid-August or beg of September and then drop in November at some point. But hopefully sooner.

November means they will run into Jay-Z season(Black Album). But don't get me wrong, Jay-Z can't hold Rakim's mic stand but Ra can't compete on a commercial level with Jay. Regardless of what Ra cares about, his label cares about sales, so releasing his album will also depend on the competition.
PS. I consider myself a Rakim fanatic, and all this talk about "hooks" and shit is perplexing. We are talking about Rakim, the wordsmith, the GOAT. I find it very hard to believe that "hooks" are the real problem. There has got to be more than that cuz this other bullshit is insulting my intelligence. I will never give up on this project becuase I believe it will blow my mind but damn can somebody throw my a bone.

I've honestly got a bad feeling about this. I think Dre and Ra might feel they've set the stakes too high and are now terrified of releasing the album - kinda like pre-empting the King Tee problem again. I don't think we'll see it this year.

Shit...this album is never gonna drop >:(
-
think hittman all over again >:(

hiphopsite like everyone else doesn't know shit about this. Considering they said (from a very reliable source) that the release date was June 3, 2003. So it's safe to say that thier sources regarding this suck.
I don't think they are worried about Jay-Z's album coming out around the same time since that is supposed to have no promotion or singles (which I doubt will happen since he's promoting it already).
And btw, this album has never been pushed back. There has never been a release date for it.

I think there was a target release date last november. Dont know if it was official though :-\

so ill be well an truely skint lol
Yeah.. Looks that way"!

wack news, fuckin shady records seem to be makin all the releases while aftermath seem to not put shit out by themselves at the moment, 50 got released in a joint thing with aftermath/shady, i hear obie is comin real soon, they got the 1st single ready n shit, probably just mixin the album n settin promotion ideas n shit while aftermath, the biggest label cant seem to put out a legend, due to hooks problems.......bullshit, i think it may be part of the problem, but them interscope cats are crafty, i guarantee if this was dre and rakims chioce, the album would have been released by now no matter how high they set the standards...............maybe they cant still find a suitable 1st single too...........gotta have a catchy hook on them muh'fuckaz to....
i dunno man, but shits startin to piss me off

Yup, that's what I think too..
I think Aftermath is feeding Hiphopsite with some very subliminal e-mails.. and Hiphopsite takes it for good fish.
