Come on man give me a break with all these Master P interviews and motivational talks.   Of course the guy had a ton of energy and ambition and he definitely had a presence.. no denying that

... but if ever there has been a case of right place, right time.  He came at the height of rap cd sales and filled a void of Pac dying and milked the cow for all it was worth and honestly his real run was only like one year long. From summer 97 to summer 98 and by fall he had already played himself out

DMX benefited the most from Pac's passing...he kind of filled that void for a lot of people especially here on the east coast

P I think would've done his thing regardless...he was that savvy of a business man

Agreed, people on here complaining that Daz releases 4 or 5 albums a year, Master P released multiple No Limit albums every month.  If there ever was a definition of saturating the market with low quality, subpar songs, he wrote the blueprint.  He had some club hits, and some songs casual rap fans could get down with, but the majority of hardcore rap fans around that time in my circle thought No Limit was a joke.  Master P just dying to be Pac, creating a bunch of songs with the same names, talking about going to war, him paying to get on a song with Pac even when it was just a crappy quality freestyle, forcing his way onto Lay Low just so he could say he did a song with Dre.  But hey, he made a lot of money, and at the end of the day, that's what it was all about to him, not about the quality or the artistic vision of rap music, so kudos to him for that.

Sure I am, my prime era for rap was during that time.  Still didn't impress me.  But to your point, yes it got even worse when he went South.
