Xzibit's Open Bar Entertainment and www.Contrabandit.com joined forces to bring West Coast Hip Hop lyricists to music industry's attention.
The kick off celebration for the monthly hip hop showcase Rhyme Night was a complete success. The event drew over 700 eager hip hop fans to Hollywood's Club Sixteen-Fifty last Wednesday to witness some of California's most talented new MC's.
Watts' Blackfoot, Rialto's Dia-monique, Santa Monica's IN-Q, San Bernardino's Dirty Birdy (Sly Boogy's cousin), L.A.'s Madam Brown and South Central's Trensetta all took the stage for rousing performances.
The night ended as Xzibit took to the stage alongside headliners Strong Arm Steady (Krondon, Phil The Agony & Mitchy Slick). Surprisingly, as the show was coming to an end, Xzibit was joined on stage by rhyme veterans Tha Liks, apparently ending their well publicized beef.
In addition to Tha Liks, many other West Coast luminaries were in the house including Mr. Tan, Bad Azz, Above The Law, Self Scientific, Planet Asia, Saafir & King Tee.
Representatives from Def Jam Records, Priority Records, Universal Records, Columbia Records, Artist Direct Records, Interscope Records and from L.A. radio stations Power 106 and 100.3 The Beat were among those on hand to get a first look at the new talent.
