Title: CANIBUS TO RELEASE ‘RIP THE JACKER’
Post by: THouse623 on June 05, 2003, 01:27:16 PM
Critically acclaimed hip-hop lyricist CANIBUS will release his new album RIP THE JACKER on Babygrande Records/KOCH Entertainment July 22. Produced entirely by Stoupe (The Enemy of Mankind) who has also worked with talents Kool G Rap, Guru and Jedi Mind Tricks (of which he is a member), Rip the Jacker is a concentrated form of lyrical mastery that does not cut any corners with the rhyme content or imagery. As Canibus’ most restless creation yet, Rip The Jacker exploits the endangered era or “Golden Age’ of hip-hop (1987-8 . "My goal with album is to create a sonic landscape that meshes seamlessly with Canibus' brilliant lyrics," says Stoupe. The first single from the album, “Spartibus” will be released in June.

Rip The Jacker marks the third and final installment of Canibus’ independent trilogy of releases since departing major Universal Records which released his debut Can-I-Bus in 1998 and its follow-up 2000 B.C. in 2000. The other releases from the trilogy include C True Hollywood Stories (2001) and Mic Club The Curriculum (2002).

Other interesting and exciting occurrences for Canibus (nee Germaine Williams) include his graduation May 1 from the U.S. Military Academy at Ft. Knox, TN. Now he is on active duty as a certified Calvary Scout/Reconnaissance Specialist in the U.S. Army, a first for an artist of this stature within the hip-hop community. Canibus joined the military after laying the foundations for Rip The Jacker. In addition, Canibus has been involved in a new prototype of a live hybrid rock/hip-hop project called BlakMilc.

Should be a tight album. Can't wait.

I like Bis. I hope he gets his shit together and gets major someday. Too much talent to rot away if not. This beef with LL is gettin majorly stale tho. Namin his album after a 2 year old song he did?? WTF.

It seems like he's just gonna go all-out on the industry on this one. Every track 'Rip' has rapped has been dissing someone, and I doubt that's gonna change now. Bis has the potential to rip up almost anyone, I hope he comes through big this time. He better have some better material on people of Em's stature as opposed to whut he had on CTHS.
