...but someone reminded me with something they said earlier...


...a group called "lighter Shade of Brown"


they werent massive really i picked up their cd in an independant store years ago alongside this unknown kid called "nas"  lol

The track "On A Sunday Afternoon" is a fucking classic track by Lighter Shade Of Brown.

i bought their album "layin in the cut" and the single to "on a sunday afternoon" a while back. there are some pretty good song on it.

Yep thats the album i got...did they ever come out with anything else?

I thought from on a sunday afternoon that they might blow up...but didnt really hear much else released....the album was real nice tho

Did they do "Hey DJ" or something titled like that? I remember that single and seeing the album second hand a few times and thinking it might be some G-funk kinda stuff, but never copped it.

Hell yeah....that album's "Layin' in the cut".  I bought that tape back in '94 and got the CD a couple years back.  I've only got one other album from them "Hip Hop Locos".  I've been meaning to complete the collection of their CD's.

Yup... they along with Kid Frost, MC BLVD, and Proper Dos were some of tha first Chicano Rappers doing it...


I remember everybody would bump their shit back in tha day, Sunday Afternoon, Hey Dj, Latin Activity... I can't remember tha other fools name but ODM was king tha main guy.. he has his own radio show out here in tha Inland Empire 909 Area... on 99.1... he still raps and produces alot of shit for Chicano Rappers... I think he did Capone E's first cd... ODM, One Dope Mexican... lol.



I aint really a big fan of their shit... but I think they got a couple albums out... I think they even got a "Best Of..." album.
