And that'z all there is to that...
agree?

i would consider it a clasic. Its snoop's best album since doggstyle. I'm feelin every song on there except that joint wit master p.
-
Snoops best album since Doggystyle no doubt, but it's not quite classic.
Tracks like I Can't Swim, Leave Me Alone, Back Up Off Me, and a few average ones prevent it from being a fullblown classic.
Like I said when it came out: 4.5 mics
-
i agree as a matter of fact imma bump it right now.
im out!!!
-
Not even close to classic. Far far from it infact. this got the least amount of play from me out of all his albums. I am not saying I think da game is better, but at the time when da game came out I was feeling it way more than I felt last meal. I liked the intro, hen and buddah, go away, lay low, issues, and miss me. the song with cube and ren was decent too. other than that, I really don't like any other songs on the album too much.
-
yup, a classic. matter of fact, i like every song, including that one with master p 8)
-
I liked I Can't Swim too.. Back Up Off Me was hella weak tho
it's near classic..
-
nah not classic.... i love 'issues' tho... meech rox :)
no limit top dogg was damn good too...
-
i wouldnt say classic, i cant play it from start to finish but i do luv "set it off" ;D
-
It's a very good album but no way a classic. If this is labeled a classic than many more albums deserve that title and the word loses it's significance.
-
^ true.. the word's thrown around WAAAAAYY too much.. esp. by snoopy groupies
-
Last Meal is a complete banger only the skit and the Master P-track aren't worthwile. it's no classic but damn near..................BETTA RECOGNIZE!!!
-
Good artist's don't have to drop albums that are all classic, Frank Sinatra was the man but he had some albums that weren't that great. All of snoop's albums are at least 4 outta 5, that's good enough for a legend.
-
There is no way that the last meal is classic IMO!!! Lyrically I think it is Snoops worst album after Da Game Is To Be Sold... I've heard lots of people rave on about how good Hen & Buddah was and how its one of the best tracks on there, but IMO its a wasted beat, just like The Boss Would like to see you off Paid the Cost. Think about it, what does snoop actually rap about on Hen & Buddah, "DPG is down with us, Shaquille O'Neal is down with us etc etc. Thats just fucking wack and lazy. IMO Snoop needs to go back to telling stories with his raps like he did on No Limit Top Dogg and Doggystyle.
-
yeah its close to a classic, even though people don't like the master p track i think it's quite good
the only track i dont like is set it off coz of that bitch ass beat
-
tha last meal falls short of a classic. too many albums are being labelled classics these days...... a classic is basically a 5/5 album.... last meal is not one of them.
-
It's not a classic album, but I agree that there are some really good songs on it and that it's underrated by the mainstream hip-hop listeners.
-
I think its easier for later snoop fans to appreciate his later works than us earlier fans... BPGs first album was 'The Game Is To Be...' wasnt it? so in comparison it is to that abortion of an album.... (apart from still a g thang) :)
-
Last Meal is no classic. But it is a bangin album none the less.
1. doggystyke
2. doggfather
3. last meal
Id give it a 4.25/5, like 85%
This album has one wack song, 2-3 aiight tracks, the rest were all bangers
ps: leave me alone was one of the best songs on that album
-
i think its got some major sick tracks but i aint consistant enough all the way........still sick though
peace

agree, FAAAAAAAR from classic album...if anything Snoop has done since 95 has been classic, it was NL Top Dogg, and that, even though it was bangin, isn't a classic. the word "classic" is thrown around way too much
-
average album nothing special. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay 2 much kokane.

word....Its a dope album for sure, but a little short of classic.
-
It's dope, but not exactly a classic....I would give it a 4.5 also.. ;)
-
Agree'd the word classic is thrown around alot...
But what peep's tend to forget is that it all depend's on the person's like's & dislikes...
To some Snoop can do no wrong..
To some 2Pac did no wrong..
To some Eminem can do no wrong...ect
peep's might consider their lp's classic's when other's do not..
Personaly I'm from Cali...
so when it comes to the ride, my speaker's say "Last meal" is one of the better Snoop cd'z ever put together.

CLASSIC!!!!!! you gotta be kidding me...first off...kokane is on half of the tracks...which ruins at least 5 tracks...the no limit track sucks...then there is a couple other wack one to go along with it....a couple nice tracks...maybe like 4-5....then 4 ok..then the rest of the album sucks...i think this album is terrible...and collects dust at the bottom of my closet along with paid da cost

do what i did, trade them in an buy an album worth buying
-
no.
-
yea the tracks quoted in the first post is the only 1's i liked althou they did get lots of play ohh and "Everywhere I Go" (O.G. Version w/ the extended beat, thnx 2 Death Row for bootleggin' it ;D) i copped it anyway but i think "DMW" was better... at first i really wasn't fillin' DMW but it really grew on me...

I give it at least a 4.25/5....sometimes I think I'd rate it 4.5/5. I bump this more than Doggystyle. I only skip Leave me alone and Back up off me. Rest of the album is played straight through...no skipping. BTW, I think that Kokane being on nearly half of the tracks made the album BETTER.
-

I can see what you're saying... but.... I've known Snoop since day one... I remember being a 10 yr old kid watching MTV and seeing him morph from a man to a dog...
but when I got into rap... da game was the first album i copped... i then copped doggystyle and fell in love with it....da game is his worst album no doubt... and I'm in love with that old sound... it's hooked... i got the same love you do for his old old shit... but tha last meal is bumpable from track 1-19.... it's his most revealing album ever... no snoop cd dropped content like last meal...
and for those who say "back up off me is crap, but top dogg is a better album" confuse me....

i do agree "classic" is tossed around like a gay guy's ass, but I would consider myself a "groupie"... and I could give you tons of things Snoop has done wrong, with his career... I can tell which of his songs suck... Snoop aint perfect, but Tha Last Meal is played in my early at least twice a month for the last year.... and when I first got it... it was bumped twice a day....
I got a 10 disc cd, but the only ones in there are Tha Last Meal and Illmatic
dats it

No, it's not a classic. It's a good album though, 4-4,25 mics would be an appropiate rating. I think the word classic is thrown around too much. If some of the weaker songs like "I Can't Swim", "Leave Me Alone" and "Back Up Off Me" would have been omitted then it could have been an arguable classic... maybe. But on the real, the word classic should not be used in conjunction with any other Snoop album than Doggystyle. IMO.

to me... those are some of the stronger songs on the album... how can any fan not agree with what he is talking about.... back up off me is basically just a rowdy song... but I cant swim is more than a littel robot dude talking
-Big BpG
-
I don't understand how people don't like "I can't swim".... :-\
-
I like the album to, my second favorite from Snoop...
i really like kokane on this album, and even though hes not one of my favorite
i still think he made that album better... a 4.5/5. so probably not a classic,
but damn close being one for me...
-
Not Really classic for me in fact the things that makes me love this album are the beats but what the fuck was I cant Swim I hate this song ,anyway good album but not classic in my opinion ...and by the way why y'all are hating on the No Limit track that shit is that everybody was dope on it and the beat is fuckin Ill something to bouce to...oh yeah too much kokane
-
Kokane was unneccesary on some tracks but IMO his presence isn't a problem anywhere. With the exception of 11 & 18 all tracks are good.So i like I can't swim.I allways get the impression. I've got this strange ''disorder'' that I allways think of colours and visions when I hear music and that track's the only one for wich I get to think of very dark red and get a vision of Snoop appearing as the devil. So to me that gives it a very dark feel, wich I really like.

NL topp dogg is WAAAAAYYYYY better...though to me that is a classic album...bump it more than any other snoop album...oh and i was 13 watching snoop morph into a dogg....and bought that shit the day it came out...just in case you're trying to say that im no snoop fan
