I hate it when I do that!! I bought Nature - For all seasons the other day and I just listened to it and realized I bought the edited version! >:( What's the point in these damn edited CDs >:( >:(

ya i do that from time 2 time.... it pisses me off but who really does buy edited CDs? besides me buyin 1 or 2 for clean songs 4 basketball warm up or sumthin that was it..... its not like little kids r gunna buy NWA censored or ur gramps is gunna buy Snoop Dogg clean becuz he doesnt like the word fuck

Its disgusting.. How can they put clean CDs out on shelfs? Kids could get hold of them!!

But you know, really...when you think about it, it's kinda silly....All they do is mute the cuss words. As if the kid doesn't know what they're saying. Plus, the overall content of the song is still there--the violence, drugs, etc...

Word, I bought The first Eastsidaz CD once again a month ago..
And found out that I had bought the wrong/edited version.
Track #9 is TOTALLY ruined.. the chorus sounds like this:

Daaaamn yes, i was just thinkin the same while reading this topic.
It took me some time to get that eastidaz album but i finaly got it from Germany
after like 3 months, and the first time i listen to it i was like "what the fuck"
cuz i dint know that you could buy edited albums back then. Then i went back and got an new version and that shit was also edited. so it took me like a half year before i could listen to it uncensored. ;D

I bought Silk the shocker's cd called My world My way and looked at the cover before I opened it and noticed that it was edited cuz it didnt have the Explicit Sticker on it....So I didnt open it and I returned it for the Explicit Version ;D

how do you not realize its edited? do you buy them offline or something? cuz i only buy mine in stores and i've always gotten the right version because they have the parental advisory on the cover. the only time i ever got an edited cd was when i was at a used cd store and i bought a promo version of tyrese-2000 watts and oddly an in store version of nature-for all seasons...i knew these may or may not be edited so i bought them anway cuz they were cheap. they were both edited. but i would think if you were buying a brand new cd it would be easy to tell if its edited.

The Parental Advisory sticker could be there just for the content, not the words. The first time I bought Kurupt's Streets is a Mutha I was damn sure it had the parental advisory label on it. I didn't even know they sold edited stuff here. When I listened to it at home I was like aww shit, shit's edited. And it had the advisory label!!!! Couldn't return it 'cause I bought it from another city but I sold to the local record store (didn't mention it was edited though ;D) and ordered a new one from the net...
Also I heard all the Friday After Next soudtrack CD's were edited 'cause Cube didn't want the cuss words on a Christmas record or some shit... And what I heard they had the advisory label on them too. I ain't seen that personally, never caught my eye in a store here.
