Props to another vegetarian...
It's now such a part of my life it's not like I think about it that much anymore.
If you're new to it, hope you stick with it because it's difficult at first...if you're not, good to see you're staying with it.
peace,
tnp

I love you like a vegetarian loves steak.

Animal tests are also conducted on monkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and gerbils. One common test involves rubbing a product, such as shampoo, soap, or toothpaste into the eye of a rabbit and recording the damage that this causes. These tests can last from seven to 18 days, with the eyelids held open by clips. Many break their necks trying to escape. This test does little to determine the safety of the product, as vast quantities of the product are used, and they are left in the eye for an extensive period of time. In addition, the eye tissue of a rabbit is not the same as that of a human. It is unethical to cause such pain and suffering, especially when there is no benefit.
The easiest way that people can stop these horrific acts is to boycott products made by companies that have not committed to ending their use of animal tests forever. Many companies do not test their products on animals or purchase ingredients that were tested on animals. A list of these companies can be obtained at www.leapingbunny.org.
Most companies, however, still test their products on animals. Arm & Hammer, Gillette, Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, SmithKline Beecham, and Unilever are just a few of these companies

Hell, I'd test any products I make on animals. If it saves a human life, oh well.
I never understood vegetarianism. It's natural for us to eat meat, that's why we have the urge to do it. That's why it tastes good to us. That's why we have omnivourous teeth. That's why it's hard to balance your diet nutritionally without meat. I understand not eating meat to the extreme, and not wasting food, but it's crazy to just not eat meat at all.
Are eagles evil because they prey on other animals? Are bears evil for eating fish?
And that's another thing. How come some veggies will eat fish and plants, and eggs, etc? Fish are animals too, just because there's tons of them doesn't make them any different.
And where do we stop? Why eat plants, there's only so many of them, you know. The only reason they grow carrots is to eat them, vegetarians should understand that carrots are being tortured, they don't get the chance to live their normal lives in the wild, that's bad, umk?

I couldn't give up meat!!!
i luv my meat ;D

I'm a carnivor, I don't think I could survive as a vegetarian.
-
I haven't eaten eggs, fish or animals since I was 6. Also, with plants, they're in the third grade of living things. I restrict myself to the top two, the two that feel pain. (tests have shown plants don't feel pain).
Actually, I'd eat another human. We've fucked this world up. One less human would help the world.
As for animal testing, part of me sees the logic in it. But I still don't agree with it. When you see the RESULTS of them, you can't support most. Especially those to do with gene reproduction...ears on top of rats.

by that logic, if you're so concerned; why don't you just kill yourself?
-

Because by staying alive with the realizations I have, I can kill far more humans than if I just shot myself. ;)
-
yeah, but humans can feel pain. By killing other humans, you inflict pain on them, and all of the humans that know them. If you kill yourself, then you only inflict pain on yourself, and the humans that know you.

Indeed.
But we are the only species with a conscience that eats meat. So perhaps we are, as Agent Smith put it, a virus.

yeah but, when i was younger and staying with my grandmother... we lived in a little ranch and raised chickens.. turkeys. and rabbits... i always.. felt bad when the time came to slauter them.... i mean.. they had lives too.. the.. we even had one turkey that became a pet.. because she was too friendly ... she would come a sit next to everyone and so forth.. animals have feelings too... and the purpose of vegetables is to be eaten... ;D
anyways... i dont blame the meat eaters.. i am jsut saying from my point of view.. it is rather sad to kill anything living creature... then.. not only kill it.. but eat it... ;)
btw who seen that picture on rotten.com... with the man eating leg-of-baby? :-X
-
^^ I can't stand to look at rotten.com anymore since my dad died, that place is hardcore.
Well, I see your reason for being a vegetarian, and that's cool with me, do what you want; but I don't think you have a good argument to convince anybody else to be veggie... I hate it when people try to make meat-eaters out to be cavemen (not that you are).
That's the only thing I don't like about Paul McCartney. He's a vegetarian and forces everyone around him to be one too. I guess I have mixed feelings about it, I think if you believe something you should be passionate about it, and apparently he's pretty passionate about everyone being a veggie, I just don't agree with the philosophy.
-
i am not trying to get anyone to become veggie heads though.. but i need to get the sites that i do have.. that are ten times better.. then what i posted.. one is veg. and womens health.. then another for dietbics.. and stuff like that.. jsut need to to look for them again..
anyways.. nothing wrong with eating meat.. i just love ANIMALS! :D
