the only ppl that bought his last album were:
1.)loyal snoop fans, even though they know the album is trash (like me, although i feel i should'nt have bought it)
2.)mainstream pop groupies
and mainstream pop groupies were the one that got the album past 1x platinum.
the whole album was a eastcoast/pop influenced album. it wasnt a westcoast album, even though snoop is a westcoast artist.
and you wonder why snoop didnt sell as much as his other albums did.........
its coz his other albums were true westcoast albums, and ppl love snoop for this, coz he brings out str8 bangin westcoast
albums.now the muthafucka wants to try new things, and have eastcoast cats produce for him, and feature all over his shit.
warren g even said in the dubcnn.com interview that snoop is lovin these eastcoast producers, and snoop wants to have
eastcoast cats to produce on the 213 album. even though the 30 tracks for the 213 album that are already done are
produced by warren,...
he's thinkin of gettin eastcoast cats to produce a few tracks. i mean... WTF!!!! snoop doesnt respect the talent there
is on the west. ok cool, there's nothin wrong with gettin some other producers to produce on the album,..
like Dr Dre, dj quik or daz. but noooo, snoop wants to fuck up the westcoast vibe of this 213 album

eminem might be the most famous rapper, but he will not suit to be on the 213 album. the 213 album is supposed to be the
album that will put the westcoast back on the map,... then why he got to put all these eastcoast cats
producin on & featurin on the album. ...like the westcoast doesnt have enough talent to produce and feature on the
album themselves.at the moment,... snoop has got too much eastcoast dick up his arse, and pop shit poppin in his mouth.
i read a snoop interview, where snoop said that he keeps doin the music for the fans. he said , if it wasnt for the fans,
he wouldnt be doin this. mainstream pop groupies dont count as fans. and most real snoop fans have gave up on
him for a while now. for real,... i dont hear anyone sayin how they like snoop's latest album . from all the
forums i been on, they all been dissin snoop, callin him wack, and that they gave up on him. they say his
latest album was trash and say snoop turned pop. real hiphop heads aint checkin for snoop no more,.. i mean i
can make a very accurate estimation and say that most ppl on the major forums like sohh & ill community forums
are not checkin for snoop no more. and these pll on these forums represent THE REAL hiphop heads, even though most
hiphop heads dont post on the internet,.. the figures are usually always right.
and then snoop announces that he wants puffy to executive produce his album, and this is exactly the
opposite of what the fans want to hear. he's compltetley sellin out his fans by doin this.
but there might be some good news, coz puffy said he would rather see dr dre do the album, coz he is a fan, but puffy said
he'll take a shot at it if dre doesnt take up the job.

i dont think he'll be forced to retire. he is losing many westoast hiphop fans (i'm one) but at the same time he's making a lot of fans in the mainstream. so he'll be around but i'm really not gonna be checking for his stuff nemore/

LOL, obviously Snoop is gonna keep doing what he's doing so we should just except it. The fans have been complaining about Snoop's music for years & obviously he hasn't listened so I guess he's happy with the way his music is going. Everyone might as well stop complaining because it doesn't look like he's gonna change his music anytime soon.
Personally, I don't like the way his music is sounding but I'm not gonna bitch & complain about it. I'll just listen to some underground West Coast rappers if I wanna hear some tight West Coast shit.

...but Dre hasn't fucked with G-funk for YEARS. He moved on, just like Snoop has. Personally when I hear a Dre beat today it sounds
universal. Snoop's trying to reach that point too, he's just leaning too heavily on the East Coast sound for the moment.
People seem to forget that even while he was on No Limit, Snoop took it back to the West. Look at the vast majority of Top Dogg, look at the entire Eastsidaz first album and a lot of the second one. Snoop will always be a West Coast artist, and he'll return to that sound eventually. People need to chill out and stop stressing it. There's a lot of good West Coast music out there for fools to be crying themselves to sleep at night 'cause Snoop wants a Just Blaze beat or whatever on the 213 album...

He's always said his only goal is to make the $$$ and hes doin a damn good job. what other rappers do you know that have their own primetime tv show, porno movie, tried out for tha raiders, throngs of college girls rubbin their funbags against, gets former Lakers stoned and has the worlds most recognizable pimp as a sidekick. you need to stop pretending to be a member of the DPGC and realize that there is more west coast music out there than that released by a DPGC member. July 22nd C-Bo and E-40 are both releasing albums, and Yukmouth's album drops on August 5th....pick them up cuz they will be hotter than anything Snoop has dropped in recent years and they rep the west big time

In the mean time I've been peeping the independent scene. forgot the Numskull album, props for mentioning that. But I've grown sick of the major record label politics. the interview with brotha lynch hung @ allhiphop.com is a great read for those wondering why everyone's going independent

Im getting tired of hearing people crying about how they want Snoop to do this and that. If you dont like his music, then dont listen to it, just like Kapone said, theres tons of other music out there to listen to if you're a westcoast head, but I dont think people complaining about Snoop on the DubCC is going to get Snoop to make a better album.

Personally, I don't mind his recent work. It's not as good as his earliest work, but it's still good IMO. I like Beautiful, and his recent album. Times change, and artists change. Things will never be the same in that sense. It's 2003, not 1993. It's been 10 years, and a lot has happened in the last 10 years. I'm just glad Snoop still has hit records after all this time. Especially when you consider that sucj great artist as Warren G, Wu-Tang, and bone Thugs don't see the same numbers they used to. I give it to Snoop for his longevity.
