Yup, good movie. I actually think it was the best this year, I think it's got classic potential, because it has such a great story, and it's ORIGINAL. They didn't even twist around an old fairy tale or anything, it's based on the ride at DisneyWorld by the same name; they built it for the world's fair back in the 60's. I used to ride it all the time when I was a kid, it's my favorite ride at Disneyworld, and I think they did a great job transferring it to the screen.

Yup! The world's fair used to be held every year, I dunno if it still is? But one year, in the 60's, some company (General Electric? somebody like that) got together, and created this damn ride. At the time, the world's fair was used to show off the inventions of tommorow, i.e. futuristic cars, rockets, etc... well, Disney (walt) got together and helped sponser a bunch of attractions at the World's fair, with the clause that they would be shipped off to Disney World after they were done, and that way, he would get all these famous permanent attractions.
They made the carousel of tommorow, "It's a small world", and a couple others. Disney helped pioneer anime-tronics (moving puppets that talked, sang, etc.), and after the world's fair was done (64?) he set out to make his baby, this ride called "Pirates of the Carribean".
It starts off on a boat, and you ride through, and this skull over the door tells you to get ready, and hold on with both hands; then you plummet through the dark down a hill, into this big room with a little city on one side, and a guy sitting on a porch singing, then the next room shows the pirates attacking, and the town burning down, then you go through rooms with the pirate ship attacking a city, it's full scale, there's a full size pirate ship with dozens of little pirates on it shooting cannons over your head to the city on the other side. Pretty incredible, I was scared to DEATH of it when I was a kid.
It was the last thing Disney worked on before he died; it opened a couple months after his death, so it's kind of his last dream for the park that he was working on.

Remember, this is all indoors, full scale
