I just made a test. I’ve listened to Paid tha Cost and then immediately played Doggystyle. I thought I’d get hella disappointed cuz peeps over here keep on sayin that Snoop lost that Doggystyle flow. Well, I gotta say I didn’t catch any difference in flows of Snoop’93 and Snoop’02. Themes – yes, but not flows. I gotta admit that Snoop of today puts out decent quality music, beats are mostly well-crafted, with distinct instruments and a deep bass. BUT, FUCK IT, YET AND STILL,
I WANT DR.DRE, WARREN G, SOOPAFLY, DAZ, FRED, MEECH, CAT instead of Just Blaze, Neptunes, Puffy, and them other suckers,
I WANT NATE DOGG instead of all them Kanes, Butches, Half Deads, and all them other cats, though they’re good,
I WANT BIG PIMPIN DELEMOND instead of Don Magic Juan (who the hell is that fat fucker anyway?????),
I WANT RBX instead of Sir Dogg & Snoopy Collins,
I WANT BAD AZZ instead of E-White,
I WANT “BEYATCH!!!!” instead of “chuuuuuuuuch”,
I WANT “BITCHES AIN’T SHIT” instead of “I Believe In You” (cuz even in 2003 bitches ain’t better than shit),
AND I WANT SNOOP DOGG DRESSED UP LIKE A SERIOUS MAN instead of some fucked up hats, intergalactic glasses and pink suits (all those sick glasses and shit remind me of Elton John).
Paid tha Cost is a quality album, but FUCK IT, Doggystyle was still ten times better.
And dont tell me that a debut like Doggystyle can’t be topped. Warren G’s 4th album is nothing worse than his first, so why not.

Although I would never ditch Butch Cassidy, E-White or Lil' HD, you got some nice points.

I WANT “BEYATCH!!!!” instead of “chuuuuuuuuch”,
agreed! 8)

snoop's just makin his money however he can.
-
I would be tired as hell to hear him say the same thingz with the same people for more than 10 years

That's a good point. But how do people like Too Short or Gang Starr get away with all them albums lookin the same?
-
my word on this is come back to the futur man..this was the past...Sure he aint making good music Like Doggystyle...but who cares he's making money he aint got nuthin to prove he's on top and This Tribute album is a proof

i agree with that 100%...the 4th one was dope as fuck

snoop's just makin his money however he can.
but the thing is...he could still make some gangsta shit and i'll bet it will at least sell 1-2 million copies...but he just refuses to do that for some reason...oh well...people change...

Snoop said a while back: "I might talk about gangsta shit, but I'll never live it again"...and Snoop raps about things he do ..if he dont bang why should he raps about it..thats keepin it real

he's doin what he thinks will make him money.... Neptunes were hot at the time so he worked with them and look at his album.. it was pretty shit but it sold. and i think i heard someone saying he was gonna work with P. Diddy.... also to make money.

Yep...people change.

It's natural to change people dnt just stay the same, like.. your not gonna get smaller only bigger if you neem around for 10 years... So I like Lil J's point it get's boring but i totally aggree he need's to get back with NATE more instead of lil 1/2 dead and butch and focus more on the OG people rather than E-WHITE etc i dnt got anything on E-WITE but i'd much rather here a warren g and snoop new song than snoop and e-wite.
Peace

Seems like most of the peeps here think I'm into that gangsta shit but that's incorrect, I didn't mean that Snoop should switch back to his 1993 lyrics, hell no. Gangsta rap is mostly dead, and people that still try to exploit it sell less than MC Hammer. But I strongly feel like feenin' for those slight changes that I listed in my first post.
-
e-white's tite as hell. but if they wanna do something with his career, why not just let him release his own shit instead of coming out on every snoop song
-
if I'm not mistaken Butch and Snoop haven't worked together since 2001,unfortunately.....I certainly don't mind him,E-White or Lil' HD.........also it isn't like he changed things just on his last album.RBX got featured and that was the first time he appeared on a Snoop album since '93. it would have been dope if he had a real verse or two on this one apart from the hook and the messages on "Batman & Robin" though.....

That's a good point. But how do people like Too Short or Gang Starr get away with all them albums lookin the same?
Because they are able to improve their sound whilst also staying true to their original style. You can't say that all the Gangstarr albums sound the same, because they don't, yet you can still recognise all of them as being Gangstarr albums and that is why they have consistantly been able to make dope albums.

well said...you can always recognize a premier beat...i remember the first time i had listened to paid the cost to be da boss and there were the 2 tracks produced by premo...i never even thought premo would work w/ snoop and i hadnt looked at the credits yet...i was listenin to the cd and i thought "that sounds like premo"...sure enough i looked inside the cover and there were 2 premo produced tracks...you can 99% of the time tell premo did the track
