Damn y'all should really get off of Dre's nuts. Sure I'm disappointed that we are going to have to wait longer for a Rakim album to drop and that the last 2-3 years have been wasted, but to be honest I would rather Rakim did drop something on a different label anyway. I'd much prefer a Rakim album produced by Pete Rock, Ayatollah, DJ Premier, Clark Kent, Alchemist etc than one where the majority of production is done by Dre. If you ask me, this might just be one of the best days in hiphop rather than one of the worse. Rakim will be able to go to another label and finally have full creative control over his album which will result in a far better album when it is finally released.

thats true...but dre is the one who fucked up rahs album in the first place...dre and jimmy iovine have been telling him it needs to be more gangsta...if they are trying to change rah into something they want him to be they need to back off and let rah do rah and not let rah do dre or ice cube shit...aftermath was never the right place for rah.

nobody knows yet. Dj Valid said they  has some diffrences but who knows. Dre has been workin wit him for 3 yrs now. 50 got signed, truth hurts got signed and they all released there albums while Rakim has been put on the shelf for all this time. I wouldnt be suprised if Ra wanted to leave.

yeah i never understood why peeps wanted Dre & Ra together, they don't make similar music that would automatically connect like Dre & Snoop or Rakim & Premier. too many are on Dre's nuts

LOL @ everyone getting up in arms and basing thier opinions on RUMORS.

You know one thing that is true...this album have NEVER BEEN PUSHED BACK.  It's has never been given and released date at any point.  People just assumed that it should have been out by a certain time.  Who the hell here knows how much studio time they have put in or how fast Rakim wants to work?  Five years were between Don't Sweat The Technique and The 18th Letter.  Seven years were between The Chronic and 2001.

And can someone state the source that said Interscope wanted this album to be more "gangsta"?
