Title: New artist to be on Aftermath??
Post by: Hittman2001 on July 30, 2003, 10:13:39 PM
Dr. Dre is working with another new artist, Stat Quo, and they have floated an 8-minute freestyle, over an original Dre beat that is supposed to be setting the streets of Cali on fire!! While Dre has got a leg-up on the competition, (flown him out to LA and has recorded six-tracks), he does have competition for the Atlanta native's services, as Stat is looking at a variety of offers.

Let's face it...
Dre is working with a different shade of a Suge Knight named Jimmy.
He has no power or authority when it comes to Aftermath.
Dr. Dre has string's...
ask Eazy
ask Suge...lol
they get pulled and his name is manipulated.

I'm at the fuck Dre point...
If he won't help or support the WEST.
Then dead em'...as a fan.

I just love bomb music so I'll still check but not care for his ish.
kinda like oh....he's got somethin' new...lol

you know i was really happy when dre signed rakim. when he signed 50, i was like "oh thats coo". when he signed eve, i started to wonder what the fuck is going on. and now i wonder why i even tried to appease all the fans by defending dre in these sorts of situations. i still love his music, the man is a genius when it comes to it. but he doesnt care for the west anymore

but he doesnt care for the west anymore

I don't even consider dre as a westcoast artist anymore...he's on some bullshit right now...like suge always says, its time for some new rappers to step up and bring the west back...

Because like 90% of the record labels are supporting the east...muthafuckas. Roscoe should've blown up...but that didn't happen...yeah sure west is gonna get some exposure with the new westside connection and the 213 album...but those guys are all like over 30 years old...these guys ain't gonna be around forever man...the west ain't lookin too good...

i think dr. dre is getting sick and tired of being the westcoast's crutch so to speak. let's face it the only times the westcoast has ever mattered is when dre was runnin shit! 88'-96'  then the whole 99/2000 when the west made a slight come back. i think dre's getting tired of artists talking about the same shit (weed, gangs, low riders, ect) Dre's an artist and wants to work with high talent which is aparantly outside of the west when it comes to rap music.

word!!!! dre has done enough get off his case already about not working with westcoast artist i mean i would love for him to do that but its not like im gonna hate him for not doing it......be reasonable he has done enough for the west....imagine the rap game with no "The Chronic" or "Doggystyle" or "Straight Out Of COmpton" or "Dr. Dre 2001" ........Thank You!

artists that wouldn't have the career they have today without dre's involvement in  thier careers

Eazy
Ren
Cube
Snoop
Daz
Nate
Kurupt
Xzibit
2pac
Above the Law
Warren G

and if you trickle down to the influence of all these acts....you basically have the entire west coast minus Ice T and his clique and MC Hammer

so i think dre's put in his dues just a LITTLE bit

i say let him go have his fun outside of the west.......besides this whole throw back jersey scene needs to die

yeah NWA woulda been viable with trashy beats

yeah snoop woulda blown up by himself out in long beach

daz would've gotten big without being on the chronic

kurupt same

nate dogg would sure be on all the hooks of everysong without being on the chronic and doggystyle first paving that road

xzibit would've gone platnum right after 40 dayz...without being on 2001

2pac would've sold 10 million without Dre Starting Death row and giving him california love

above the law would've done well on ruthless without dre's help back in the day

and people would be checking for warren g back in the day  WITHOUT his relationship with dre

lol you're absolutely right

everyone would've been bigger stars without dre back in the day

man thats not what i'm talkin about...you said without dre, they wouldn't even have careers...which is bunch of bullshit...like pac for example, before he joined deathrow, he was selling platinum records...so i dunno wtf are u talkin about. same with xzibit, he had a career even before dre started helping him out...and warren was the one who helped snoop, nate dogg, and others...seems like you're giving dre all the credit or somethin.

uhhh...daz didn't blow up when he was on the chronic...it was everyone's effort at deathrow that helped them blow the fuck up when they released dogg food album...you actin like dre produced and did every fucking thing...damn get off his nuts dawg..on the realz.

Warren G would've never blow up without his relationship with dre? hahahahaha...wtf is this guy talkin about...lot of people don't even know that they are related...and during that time, westcoast rap was on the top...and basically all these artists from the west was blowing up, selling millions of records. without dre or not, he would've blown up eventually...espically with a song like regulate with nate...plus warren produces all his albums...by himself...dre didn't have no part in that...warren wasn't even on deathrow...again you giving him all the credits for some bullshit reasons that dosen't make any sense...

NWA without dre, would be nothin? trashy beats? you forgot about yella? dre ain't the only producer on that group...so next time u start assuming some bullshit, check your facts man.

Everyone that says shit like "Dre is ignoring the westcoast" is a retard.  Who cares?  Why would you turn someone down and not work with someone if they are talented, you like them and you work well together?  Unlike a lot of people here I don't think he cares where an artist is born or where he "reps".  It would be just stupid to make a point of just working with artists because they are from a certain geographic location.
