Title: Tracks that potential to BLOW UP BIG....but never did..
Post by: Vigilante on August 06, 2003, 12:53:48 PM
AND STATE THE PROBLEM !!

Young Gunz - Cant Stop, Wont Stop
funny video, but no one knows them (clubs....) and the verses arent commanding which make them very weak

Blu Cantrell f/ Sean Paul - Breathe (Remix)
The "Whats The Difference" beat was known by too many people and Blu was out of the spotlight for too long, this is a very nice joint though

50 Cent - If I Cant
Its doing well in clubs, but if it was made 2nd or 3rd single it would blow up almost as much as In Da Club, but the only problem is that it had same theme as In Da Club

Xzibit - Losin Your Mind
Should of been Xzibit's 1st single from Man vs Machine, but X didnt choose it....dumb move

Roscoe - Trouble
This could be a MEGA joint, it has everything...the beat, voice and style....but the people don't know who Roscoe is and it wasn't selected as a single

I disagree with these three.  The Young Gunz song has blown the fuck up in Philly.  it was #1 on every countdown for a few weeks in May and June and is JUST reaching across the country with the video.  The Blu Cantrell song is big, the girls love it and I've heard it on the radio several times (including the version with E-40 on it).  and the 50 song IMO doesn't have the sound to blow like "In Da Club".  here are my choices:

2pac feat. K-Ci and Jojo "Thug n me Thug n u":  not only was there a somewhat edited version available to use in a video (the one that was on K-Ci and Jojo's album), but K-Ci and Jojo could have been on TRL or 106 and Park to debut the video and tlak a lil bout it to promote it.

-Crooked I, Treach, Scarface "Gangsta Rap"
-Roscoe "Last night"
-Daz Dillinger "It might sound Crazy"
-DPG "Party at my house"

"back up hoe" -- snoop feat. goldie

"not like it was" -- doggystyle allstars..........this song coulda been huge if it was the first single and snoop dropped the video by mtv, 106 and park (everybody i show this song to loves it)

"Str8 Westcoast" Knoc-Turn'al
Both the remix and this could have been anthem's for 02' could have been a dope follow up video to "Knoc" & the wasted "Muzik". (danm!!! Knoc should be a huge star by now ImO..)

"Hotter than fish Greece" Jayo Felony
Nuff said...this track was Gangsta and made ya shake it shake it, shake it, shake it..

"On the BLVD." or "The Wash" Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg
Pretty much the entire "Wash soundtrck" was wasted...
but oh well  :-\

Jus a couple more to add on
Hatesrats 2oooTre

Xzibit- Choke Me Spank Me-----why the hello did they release symphony in x major as a single, the bside was the real winner,,drunk bitches would love singin that hook

2Pac- Niggaz Nature RMX wit Lil Mo--this woulda been the biggest hit of the summer and i heard lil mo was pissed because they didnt make this a single

Jay-Z- Girls Girls Girls RMX- the original was cool but the remix blew it away

Eminem- My Dads Gon Crazy- one of dres best beats as of late wit an extremely catchy hook

Roscoe - Last Night
Many ppl dont know roscoe, this could be changed by releasing "last night" as a single, cuz it contains a lot of rnb elements, people like that.

Crooked I - Still Tha Row
Original-version is hot and TV would have played it if tha row had made a regular club-video without anyone throwin gang-signs or crip-walkin in it

Eastwood, Crooked I - We Ballin
A still DRE-like video would be cool with em lowriders n all...but will never happen.

C-Bo feat. Gotti & Eastwood - I Like Gangster Shit
To me its the best track of "the mobfather"....make a video!

2pac ft. Big Syke - I'm Loosin It
the beat was super tight with the voice box and 2pac came with straight heat wit his flow

Daz - Keep It Gangsta
Classic westcoast beat, dope flow as usual for daz, but this was like a come back to the fun lovin westcoast life style

Wc ft. Case - Flirt
Dope beat, with the westcoast whitle, case hada tuff hook and WC's flow TIGHT like always shoulda been a banger, i herd it on the radio a couple times, i always bump this in my car actually the entire ghetto hesiman

Snoop Doggy Dog - Up Jumps Tha Boogie(from dogfather album)off the chain beat, tight flow, flawless song, VOICE BOX, classic tune, n he had a few sinlgs off that album this should have been one, in my opinion

Snoop, Xzibit, Ice Cube, Dj Quik - Live From L.A(BET t.v show theme song)
OH BOY, dj quik came way too FONKY with the beat, then Snoop, X-Z, ICE CUBE, shoulda have been a REAL song on an album not jus a theme song, way too BIG!!

Nate Dogg ft. Dre - Your Wife
GEEEZE!! Dr.dre came crazy with the beat, n nate comes correct all teh time, his albums should always sell, peeps gota support da westcoast, i'm sick n tired of DOPE songs gettin no sunlight from everybody else.

but oh well  :-\

U ain't even lyin a lil bit.....I saw "The Wash" song as bein the next Snoop and Dre classic after Still Dre and Next Episode..I liked this song better than Still Dre even tho it wasn't the same effect and message.

A lot of songs yall listed were dope songs but they never woulda blown up commercially.

Get Nekkid-Mausberg and DJ Quik
Thats such a tight beat and a much better "get naked anthem" than nelly's gay hot in here

There are also a lot of Twista songs that could have got him a lot of popularity.

might as well add Yukmouth feat. Aaron Hall "I want ya body".  This song could blow up, however I doubt Rap-A-Lot would put money into making a video for a song
