What elements do you think are needed for a battle verse?
-
PUNCHLINES, PUNCHLINES, AND MORE PUNCHLINES. It goes like this tho fo real, well at least I think.
Punches (breaks down into 3 categories)
-Personals, you have to be talking about your opponent, if there is none, ppl will mostlikely think youre prewriting or biting.
-Metas/Similes, have creative shit, not throwin down a punch that says, 'youre gayer then elton john' ya know?
-Wordplay, well basically, using words that sound the same or are spellt the same for different meanings, or just twisting words in a manner where no one would expect it.
The only other thing that should be payed attention to is flow, multies are merely to improve the flow, and shouldn't be the decidin factor in a battle.
Oh well thats how I view shit, everyone has their own diff criteria.

Well said abstruse. The only thing I'd add is that personally I also like funny punches in battles, clownin the other person. I mean, it's cool to have these real hard punches about killin' and all, but I think I'm the most impressed by someone that can make it funny and creative. Just personal taste I guess.

u gotta have ill original punches or else ur jst wack... theres nothin i hate more than a played punch especially when newbies think they ill spitin em when they have been spat on the board 10 times before n was all ova the net for the last 2 years..

you might not want to start on respect, you Bit, and prolly still bite. I ran my mouth when someone disrespected me and i got the skill to back it up, and i dont know where you come up a washed out savior to a gangsta crew, after whatever months after you bit and act like you amount as shit, so if you gonna act like you think you can beat me we'll battle otherwise shut your mouth.

hmmmmmmmm........every keystyler who bited on WCC was a very dope keystyle on WCC, i mean after they got exposded and they said they didnt bited anymore, i wuz chekin some old rhymes, and theyre stuff was heated...
