Its about a Box called the "Lament Configuration puzzle box" Which was made by a toy maker in the 18th century i think. Some guy used black magic to use the box to open up a door way to hell.

In its simple form Hellraiser is about ppl opening the box to experience extreme pleasures or pain and once the box is opened the cenobites (demons) come to take your flesh and soul.

Pinhead is one of these cenobites but was not a main character until hellraiser 3 and onwards, in part 1 and 2 he's was one of a few demons who kill those who open the gates of hell.

If u like horrors and like the more darker and serious kind then watch all of them (theres 6 in total). If u like slashers and teen horrors then i don't know if u will like hellraisers coz theres no jokes in there or freddy style one liners.

They're pretty gory though... (Judging on Hellraiser 1 and the beginning of Hellraiser 2)
