Title: Bad news about 213........inside.
Post by: teecee on September 11, 2003, 07:06:52 AM
Hope this hasnt been posted,, its from mtv.com....

"When Snoop and Nate Dogg tell you, "This is 213, go bust on it," you stop what you're doing and go rap on the track they're directing you toward. So goes the history of how Warren G's latest collaboration with his two best friends came about.

The song, "Fly," finds all three breaking women's hearts over the beat to Monica's "So Gone." So far the tune has been a smash on the mixtapes and has made its way onto the radio, becoming one of the most heavily rotated records in L.A.

"Nate came in and put a hook on there," Warren said a few weeks ago, speaking on the phone from Seattle. "Snoop put a verse on there. I came in like, 'What's happening?' I really listened to it after we finished. I was like, 'Where did they get this beat from? This sh-- is incredible.' I'm driving one day and I heard Monica singing over it, and I was like, 'This sh-- is crazy.' It tripped me out but we had a ball doing it."

Warren says "Fly," which was recorded in early spring, probably won't make the cut for the trio's long-talked-about debut LP, but the rhyming beatmaker promised that the group has plenty of other material to choose from.

"We recorded about 30-something songs," he disclosed. "That's how fast we work. We just pull up a gang of beats and start doing them."

213 want to limit the number of guest rappers on the LP, but Snoop wants to get his pimping accomplice 50 Cent on the album and Warren wouldn't mind having Nas, Eminem and the remaining members of N.W.A jump onboard. Warren's half-brother Dr. Dre has confirmed that he'll produce on the project and Pharrell Williams has already submitted beats (see "Snoop's 213 Working With Neptunes On Long-Awaited LP").

"I'm doing like, four tracks on the album that's off the chain," the G-child promised. "I'll probably end up doing more stuff but I guess Snoop wants to get flavor from other guys. But I know how to make it happen. Not to say that the other guys don't, but we've got chemistry. That's the formula: Warren G, Dr. Dre, Daz. The same people that was involved in The Chronic. But I don't mind getting nothing from Pharrell and the other cats because they make hit records. I don't mind getting more hits."

If it were up to Warren, the 213 hit parade would've started up a long time ago, but he blames the politics of each group member being on a different label and differing schedules for the slow start.

"I'm happy to have the chance to finally do it like we used to," beamed Warren, who started making records with Snoop and Nate when they were kids. "I've been telling Snoop for years, 'Let's do this 213.' I get tired of every time I do an interview, everybody asking me what's up with 213. I told Snoop, '[The] next time you go to a radio station, they gonna ask you that sh--.' He went to a radio station and he did a quiz and asked [the listeners], 'What would be the hottest sh-- for us to do? A 213 record, a Dogg Pound record or an Eastsidaz record?' Everybody told him 213, which is a no-brainer. Snoopy is hard-headed sometimes, but that's my dog."

One of the records they already have in the can is a track called "Rolling Down the Highway" and another is called "Sunny Days," where the three West Coast giants perform over the beat from "Sesame Street."

Outside of his reunited group debut, Warren has been working on his next solo album. He doesn't have a deal yet, but has laid tracks with friends like Raphael Saadiq and Xzibit. G has also landed a deal with JVC for his own line of products, which he designed, called "The Warren G Series of Speakers and Amps." He's even got his own JVC boombox ready to hit stores, but he doesn't have a name for it yet.

213 does not have a name for their album or a release date, but the members hope to drop the LP this winter. "

-----Damn, Warren might only have 4 TRACKS on the album?!!??  What happened to him doing at least half the album?  I like what warren says about him, Daz and Dre having the right chemistry- imagine this album produce by Warren, Dre, and a rejuvenated Daz!  WHOA!  I know this album is gonna be tight, but i cant help but feel pissed off at Snoop a little bit for wanting all these producers....THEN AGAIN, SNOOP HAS NEVER THOUGHT MUCH OF WARREN AS A  PRODUCER, wich is why hes never rapped over a Warren beat on his own albums, and which is why 213 never happened until now.  I mean, the point of 213 is to hear Snoop nate and Warren on Warrens beats (with a couple Dre ones).......i bet the Neptunes will give them a dope beat, and i am sure NAs and eminem and 5o will all be dope on the album, but i just hope the album doesnt become saturated wit guest appearances and become inconsistent and all over the place due to all the producers. peace

5 Warren produced tracks:
How stupid can they be? If they did like a thing were Warren producec 4, Dre like 2 and Daz 4 then ok, but we will probably see 4 Warren tracks, 1 Dre and the rest gonna be Eminem, Neptunes, Jelly Roll and them other average producers....

Only Few guest's on the albumn: Good idea, but:

Nas: Why oh why, this is never gonna work.... totaly diffrent style's of topic and flow....

Eminem: im pretty glad to be hearing another track with him and Snoop, even though this could turn out bad....

50 Cent: hmm, hes nothing special, but if we cant get Bad Azz, E-White, Daz, Dre, RBX, Lady Rage, Tray Deee, Doggy Angells and the rest of them, then why not 50.... At least they gonna get pretty good promotion... Or????

Huh....

em and nas shouldn't be on this album....it should just be warren, nate and snoop (and maybe dre on a couple productions)...that's it...

50, nas and em will ruin the true flava of what everbody expected the 213 album to be....

I'm glad somebody like MTV actually spoke to Warren to get an opinion, not just Snoop all the time. And I'm glad about that too that Warren spoke his mind there - about Snoopy bein' hard headed, about who he thinks should be doing the production, who he'd like to have as guests and so on... Seems like if Warren was in total control of this album, he'd give us, the fans, EXACTLY what we hoped for - Production by Warren, Dre & Daz and guests limited to West Site vets and a few master spitters from the East. If Warren was in charge, the product would be GUARANTEED to satisfy us. Now we'll have to wait for it and give it a few listens to see if we like it or not. But I'm hopin' for the best.

They need to put that What U Wanna Do joint on there! But on the real, only a couple of Warren G produced tracks on the 213 album is just not right. It just isn't. Snoop need to get some pepper in his ass (that's a Dutch saying :P) and they need to get the album out real quick now! I bet it will be March 2004 in the end eventually :-X

IMO, everybody's making a big deal over nothing...

This would be ideal to me.
4 Warren G tracks,
2 Fredwreck tracks,
3 Battlecat tracks
2 Dre tracks
3 "Hot producer tracks"
2 Soopafly
1 Quik track (hey I can wish)

That looks like a hot album to me, but hey, to each their own...

My big worry is that they don't keep the westcoast feel to it. How are you gonna have an album by 213 with eastcoast beats?

This isnt really bad news to me....Nothing unexpected anyway......I bet Dre's gona pust at least 2 beats on there, 4 or 5 from Warren, Fred and Daz lay a couple beats......Whats wrong with that?  I know we're gona get at leat 10-12 dope tracks all produced by Warren, Dre, Fred, and Daz.....And hopefully the Neptunes come thru in a good way and make some beats that fit for 213.....

Im highly anticipating this album... 8)

I hope they don't go overboard and fill the album with 20 odd tracks. They should keep it at about 13 tracks, I don't want no filler shit.

wow, I really should be anticipating this album a lot.  213 has some of my favorite rappers ever.  but from the rumors that I have heard, I really don't want this album to drop.  they ain't 213 anymore, the album really isn't going to be a 213 album.  a true 213 album would be 100% produced by warren g, and no one out of long beach would be a guest spot on it.  Thats exactly how it would have been when 213 was a click.  don't try and tell me some bullshit that back when nate, snoop, and warren were all a click they would have gotten people such as the neptunes, eminem, 50 cent on the album.  this ain't a true 213 album, and there never will be.  it is too late for a true 213 album.  just like there never will be a true dpgc album.  I really hope these guys have enuff respect for themselves not to release a garbage album like most recent dpg releases.  (disregard this entire statement if you think snoop and the neptunes are a good collabo, or commend snoop on not getting a dre beat for his last album.)

Nah, he's rite. This aint 213 no mo. This is a Snoop Dogg featuring Nate Dogg (and Warren G) album. Consider it a Snoop Dogg album. That's what it is. 4 Warren tracks? My bad. I used to be the one saying 'stop trippin till u hear the actual album' but with each day and every non-Snoop interview I am beginning to think that it'd be better if this album was never released.

Warren needs to be in charge. He brought Snoop to Dre. He put Nate on the map. They both need to give some credit to Warren, he is the man, he's been down for them and they only messin around with him. If this so-called-213 album finally drops with less than 70% Warren G produced tracks I'm done wit Snoop. He a sellout. Period.

Although I'm still highly anticipatin' this, I'm also very worried that I'ma be greatly disappointed. Neptunes? Nas? 50? Em? Now don't get me wrong, I'ma huge fan of Shady/G-Unit shit, but this is turnin' out to be "Commercial Mainstream" the album. Obviously it ain't gonna have a true West Coast feel to it, which is clearly what we all want in a 213 album. My dream 213 album would of course feature Snoop, Warren, and Nate, then it would have guest appearances by Soopafly, Daz, Dre, RBX, and a few other West Coast vets like Cube, some old Pac material, Bad Azz, etc. And NO production from anyone other than Warren, Daz, Dre, Battlecat, or Fred Wreck. IMO that's a TRUE 213 album, the kind we've been watin' for for so long.

Title: Do Snoop and NAte even respect Warren G?
Post by: teecee on September 14, 2003, 11:12:37 PM
I know they are all good friends, but musically do tey even feel him anymore?

Im sure everyone knows that i am a huge Warren G fan and that i even gave his last album a 5/5 rating.  However, i have a feeling that Snoop AND Nate both doubt Warrens hitmaking abilities considering he has not produced a hit song in a LONG time.  I personally still LOVe his production as do a lot of people on this message board, but it is hard to say whether he still has what it takes to make an album have huge sales.   And lets be honest, this album has to be HUGE and put up HUGE numbers(although i could care less)........i wish it could all be Warren produced, but with the way rap is today, it seems like you HAVE TO HAVE A NEPTUNES beat and gotta have some mc's who dont belong, whether we like it or not.

Another thought:  while i am gonna buy and like this album no matter who produces it or is a guest on it, i wonder if the album should even be made.  Seriously, it seems as though neither NAte or Snoop think enough of Warren to even get him to produce for their solos; it seems as though warren is the one who has always wanted the album, and is the one who NEEDS this album to gain back is status as a superstar.  Snoop is rich and not really hungry, and Nate could make more money singing ooks for everyone in the game.  To, that is the problem with this album.........

snoop aint never gona let warren shine

warren need to make a regulators album with just him and nate
they dont need snoop, or they could pick up lil half dead to be part of the group coz he used to be part of 213

so then snoop can fuck off and do his sellout shit with the neptunes & 50cent on his own shit

Last night I was bumpin' "Welcome 2 the Chuuuch II" & Snoop was shoutin' out everyone and their granddaddy givin' away websites, droppin' names whatever & I noticed one major Website & Name he fails to mention almost all the time, DAZ.
Unless he's on the same track or Fuckin' up {D.P.G.C. u know what I'm throwin' up} Snoop hardly ever show's love to any of his come-up's or relatives....lol
I always kinda found that weird az fuck.
Cause Daz alway's even to the extent of robbin' whole veres n' shitt shout's out Snoop 24/7.

{I'm high az Fuck....excuse me homies..}
I'm tryin' 2 make sense...lol

I know at least one of u {Maybe}
feel's me on this ish?
Hatesrats 2oooTre

{Bottom line is....it kinda seem's like Snoop hardly show's love to his peep's or signed artist's. {he'd shout out the nexx man befor his own..}
