Title: Why didnt Truth Hurts do well?
Post by: eNgIeS on September 14, 2003, 09:14:00 AM
Hi

I was just listening to the Truth Hurts cd & damn that was a pretty good cd. I dont usually like RNB but Truth was harder than the rest of those fuckin soft ass generic rnb bitches like Ashanti

Plus she had some bangin beats on the album. Heck Addictive is still played a bit today in clubs & in peoples car stereos on mix tapes

I like Addictive, I'm Not Really Lookin, Bullshit, Hollywood, Next To Me, The Truth, Grown. All good tracks

Damn shame it didnt blow up, so why didnt it? How much did it officially sell?

At best, it barely went Gold.

The reason it didnt do good, was because Dre rested on his part and was content to let the single blow. Now, the single blew up, but we all know huge single dont equal reciprocal sales. Not enough emphasis was placed on promoting the album. Plus,. the second single came out way late and barely got played. (Not to mention that whole R Kelly shit fucked things up)

there was only 1 Big single and releasing "The Truth" as Third single was a big mistake R.Kelly was in trouble on that time and the beat wasnt that great ...They should have made a video for "Not Really Looking"
