I dunno about anyone else, but the 4 tracks Ive heard from Obie's album are on average, better than the standout tracks from Get Rich or Die Tryin......"In da Club" can go head to head with "Oh" IMO.......And "Look in my Eyes", "The Set Up", and the song with Eminem are fucking amazing, yet Im sure theres alot more bangers to come from that album....
Dare I say Classic, but I have a feeling that "Cheers" is going to be an amazing album.....
-
Cheers is a dope album, but I don't think it's better than GRODT.
-
I've heard the whole thing, and IMO it's a bit better than 50's debut Shady album. The real question though is will it sale more units?
-

i say they are at about the same level but GRODT is more on a party club vibe tracks while Cheers is just a good hip hop cd to listen to
-
Not hard to be better than GRODT. Obie's 3-4 songs I've heard so far are better than 50's album overall.
-
well not from what ive heard so far..............in da club vs got some teeth as 1st single.........in da club, 5/5 track, no doubt.........got sum teeth.........should have stayed in a ost for a comedy...........oh is a very dope track but 50 got his style which stands out so until i dont hear obies album i aint sayin nuttin............but y'all hypin it up alot, so imma see for myself how sick this album really is
peace
-
I wish "Got some Teeth" wasnt the first single.....Its an alright tune, but "OH" or "llok into my Eyes" woulda fucked shit up in the streets and In the Clubs.....
I think all the hype surounding 50 made his so-called debut "In Da Club" more than it was......Dont get me wrong, that song will be forever a classic, but Im feelin "Oh" just as much.....
BTW, now that Ive heard Dre on GRODT and Cheers, Im feelin all these beats and really anticpating Detox to the fullest...

That's more like what I aimed at saying. :)
-
its a bit better than GRODT>..but i doubt its gonna sell more than 50's album...Got some teeth sux as a single =/
-
this is ALOT better than GRODT, but 50 has the market appeal
-
I think it is a better album than GRODT personally. I doubt it will sell as well tho. :(
-
Cheers was a hilarious show. You had Woodie,Sam,Diane,Coach,Carla,Cliff, and Normmmmmm. Never thought a show set inside of a bar would be a hit. ;D
-

Agree.
I'd give them both 4.25 mics, 4.5 if I was nice..
-
I think Obie's album is more consistent, but does not have a single even close to In Da Club. You gotta realize, that is one of the biggest singles of all time.
Besides that track, the beats are much better on Obies album and ya i gove this album 4.5 (i was expecting like 3/5) compared to 4/5 for 50 cent
-
i'd say they are both the same, i'm liking Obie's album more now probably because its fresh music. i'll probably get bored of this album as i did 50's (i can only listen to a couple of songs off that album now)
-
When I heard Got Some Teeth I wasn't too excited about the album... But the cuts that I've heard on the net after that? Oh! and them - DAAAAAMN!!!! I'll be sure to get this shit now. I wouldn't compare Cheers with anything until I've heard the whole album, but the Shady/Aftermath camp is known to put out quality shit. I mean they haven't had a wack album yet! Everything they've put out has been solid quality (even though Truth didn't sell much, that album's still sope as fuck) and I think Obie's album won't put the label to shame...
-
I think it's a better album. No way it will be bigger though.
-
i really can't wait to buy this, now. at first i wasn't going to buy it cuz i'm not feeling obie's voice at all but i heard a couple of tracks, like "oh" and shit.....so can't wait to buy it. This and the new 'kast of corse 8)
-
nope.
ps.. shoulda been a poll.
-
I think "Cheers" and "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" are on the same level, but unfortunately that doesn't mean that Obie will sell as much units as Fifty, because he was hyped as fuck back than.

Exactly...Shady/Aftermath won't put anything out that's wack, it may not sell as much as GRODT but that doesn't mean it's a wack album.
-
i think its better...i really like cheers...grodt..is overrated IMO
-
nope.
Simple as that....
50 had the street's & world waiting.
check the tracklisting...lol
the entire lp was a fucken single just bout. {Video}
"In da club"
"Many men"
"Heat"
"21 Questions"
"P.I.M.P."
"Wanksta"
50 owned the game this year...jus' some
plus add his #chart toppin' appearences such as stand-out's
"Magic stick",
"Realest Killaz" & "Realest Ni--az"
holding down the streets.....ect
& we got one of the most impressive spurt's in Hip-hop in a long long time...
and the year is not over yet.
but as far as sound's go...ImO
no comparrison. "Get rich or die tryin"
Hatesrats 2oooTre {ImO}
p.s. as we speak 50 still has one of the hottest singles in the world wit "P.I.M.P. {G-mix}"...
-
Cheers is dope it takes a shit on Get Rich or Die Tryin
-
I've have one listen so far, (just got it today) and I think it'll be better than 50 Cent's album. Obviously it won't sell as much but the quality is what I'm concerned with.
It's got the problem that most albums have, it's too long, but atleast he's got no skits, minimal guests (two posse cuts and three other verses ain't too much for him I guess) and some solid production. I can't see how people can honestly not feel Eminem behind the boards. Obie comes off on the mic as I expected.
Right now it feels like a 8/10 but will probably end up a 8.5/10

eminem behind the boards is the main reason i think GRODT is the better album becuase there was maybe 2 good beat from him and the rest were either decent or jsut garbage and he produced over half the album so yeah that basically sums it up.
-
so far the beats on this are more grimy for the most part, however i still think GRODT was a dope album but im yet to really soak this one in totally
