Don McLean - American Pie

It's all about the death of Buddy Holly in the plane crash, and it's also a metaphor for the death of Innocence in music.  It's got so many analogies in it, it's untouchable.  I'll post the lyrics up later.

There are so many dope storytellin' songs. One of them is "Casualties Of A Dice Game" by Big L:

The dopest storytellin' song of the new ones is "No Return" by Canibus. He's tellin' a story about 09.11. At the end he dies :'(

The best story in a song ever is probably Immortal Technique's "Dance With The Devil".
"You Never Know" off his latest album is almost as good.

Slick Rick's "La Di Da Di" is the most influencial.  It's probably the most lyrically sampled song in hip-hop.

One of The Best Storytelling Songs is Probably "Warning" by The Notorious BIG...just listen to the lyrics....amazing..

If you like those funny songs, you'll have to check out KRS' "Wake Up", where he claims to be a joint, which is reached to many rappers like Redman, Cypress Hill, etc.

Another hot storytellin' song of KRS-One is "The Truth", where he has funny thoughts like:
