1999 (i think), they re-made alotta classic kung-fu movies, with this donnie yen bein the star... they remade like 2-3 bruce lee movies + 4-5 jet li movies + 2 jackie chan movies i think...

you've seen the fake version...

go to your video store and borrow the old jet li version, to recognize his skills..

or you could download the dvd rip version from kazaa  ;D

Synopsis

From the acclaimed action director of 'The Matrix' and 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'. For this breathtaking epic adventure set in the late Ching dynasty, acclaimed action director Yuen Woo-ping combines incredible dynamic, high-flying fight-action and stunning cinematography with a classic story of courage, honour and sacrifice. International action superstars Donnie Yen (Once upon a time in China 2, Highlander 4) and Yu Rong Kwong (Shanghai Noon, Project S) give immaculate performances as two legendary warriors who must put their lives on the line to defeat the barbaric excesses of a corrupt political regime and protect the lives of the people whose cause they champion. Making judicious use of low-key lighting, high contrast colour combinations and a haunting soundtrack, director Yuen Woo-ping creates a unique visual tapestry and captures a mood, which is gently romantic and yet emotionally charged. Each fight sequence is both original and enervating, possessing a relentless kinetic energy and strong emotional underscoring, which lifts it well beyond traditional martial arts action. Fans of Yuen Woo-ping's recent groundbreaking work in the Ang Lee-directed box-office smash-hit 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' can now enjoy one of the most visually spectaculr action-adventures ever made.

its dope.. i guess i've slept on Jet Li... (bruce still rulez.. and jackie is funnier).

He's kinda middle ground.. best of both worlds.

I predict a great fall in the number of Jet Li DVDs available in this town  ;D

I'd go with...

Fist Of Legends- Jet Li
Black Mask- Jet Li
Drunken Master- Jackie Chan

It's dope on Fist Of Legends where Jet Li uses his belt to beat tha bad guy's ass. And when he has that battle with tha old man in tha field.. they get down.

Black Mask is kinda Futuristic Cyborg type shit.. it's dope though.

Drunken Master- I used to think of Jacki Chan as more of a comedian than a Martial Arts guy... then I saw this movie and realized he's pretty funny but still would fuck you up.

Anybody seen "Time And Tide"?? I dont know if you can really can this a Martial Arts Movie.. cuz they involve alot of guns and stuff... but still.. dope ass japanese movie. You guys need to check it out. If I ever saw it for DVD I would buy it. It's crazy innovative though.. the whole movie is in 3 different languages.. English, Spanish, And Japanese. That's crazy right? Every nationality would need subtiltles to understant the next part of tha movie... I understood the English and Spanish part.. had to read the subtitles for tha Japanese part.. it's a trip..  Look it up Overseer

Enter The Dragon--classic

I liked those Gymkata and American Ninja flicks too. 8)

But the 70s ruled for Kung Fu movies.  The tv show was boring IMO.

Fist of the white lotus
new legend of shaolin
fist & guts
five deadly venoms
the mystery of chessboxing
and of course master killer

I usually like the Shaw Brothers Kung Fu flicks the best, i never liked the Jackie Chan ones much except for Drunken Master & a couple others.

I dont care what any 1 says
Any of the Bruce Lee films kicks ass on all the other Kung Fu films.

Bruce had no FX No Ropes none of that shit.
He kept it real no flying and 200 blocks before 1 guy hits the other.
