Who yall think is the future of the westcoast?
I would have said Crooked I but I dont think we'll see his album.
-
I think IV Life has a good chance of blowing up. Not just because they got talent but because they make good mixtapes (freestyles over popular beats) and they have some commercial appeal. They're not commercial rappers but the appeal is there.
-
Yeah IV Life.

Right now. The Game. He's got the generic NY mixtape style that has taken the industry over. The East Coast heads will eat that up. The West will slobber on his dick thanks to the Dre affiliation. Really though, if he wasn't with Dre, and still rode with JT, nobody would care about him.

The Game

Mitchy Slick
Ecay Uno

Nobody... hiphop is dying a slow painful death like Disco did.
-
THE MUTHAFUCIN GAME......BIG HOMIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GYEAAAAAAA......JUST WATCH BIAAATCHES!
-
As of right now, I think Knoc-Turn'al got a much bigger chance than The Game.
The Game is dope, but I'm not sure at all about getting a release on The Math.....

^^Totally true, but I think Trauma could be very close to the truth.

Mic The Mos Confident - SERIOUSLY, Ya'll Dont Even Know How Wild this cat'z SKills Are.....Either Mic The Mos Or Crooked I, Whichever Album Comes Out First
-
sadly I agree with Trauma. Rap is changing for the worst, good thing I got 100's of albums to catch up on. This is not to say there isn't a lot of talent on the westcoast, it just does not get recognized.

BABY BASH 8)
he's makin some noise world wide... even in europe
-
I think the closest is THE GAME. He got that NY style, West lyrics & Dre in the back. IV LIFE will sty underground, sad but true. Actually the sadest thing is that Trauma is absolutly right...
-
Hopefully IV Life Records. So far, they've dropped 2 mixtapes this year, and I haven't heard ONE bad word about it. I think practically everyone will agree with me when I say that they drop quality music. Plus, like Lincoln said, they got that commercial appeal, but at the same time, the underground is supporting them. To me, I think it's a good combination.
Also, I think that the Strong Arm Steady Crew has got a big chance to blow up.
-
Easily Knoc-Turnal
Roscoe is on Murphy Lees new album i believe, if the song he's on is the next single he'll go way more commercial than Kurupt ever was.
Hittman and Crooked I both had chances, but the industry screwed them in the ass.
Sly Boogy might if releases his cd and the California Remix video at the right time.

of course iv life is tight, but how many people know about them, much less heard them? I guarantee no one in my town has heard of them. For a artist to blow up, they have to be fucking huge. They have to be on the radio constantly, be on tv constantly, be in all the magazines, and have a young ass fan base.

the next big artist or label outta the west has to be full of eastcoast influence to be big....the real westcoast shit will stay underground. sad but seems true.
