First of all i love the music IV Life puts out. i downloaded 1.4 and bases loaded and im gonna buy vol 1 when the online store is online. but honestly what is IV Life doing that artists like Defari, Bad Azz, Rass Kass, Sly Boogy etc havent done. What i mean to say is theyre great but its been done before and it hasnt sold. people talk about IV Life blowing up. I hope they do, itll be great for hip-hop but i doubt it. i still support them and will as long as they keep releasing good music. i think people are getting ahead of themselves saying they're gonna go platinum n all. im sorry if im stepping on toes here but its just the way i feel.

The westcoast needs 'a new breed' and thats what they are, mixed with serious VET's like DJ Slip, Tray Deee. Everyone wants to work with IV Life they got love on the streets... Not to mention IV Life got offices in Arizona, Cali-IV-nia even Japan!

word up. and they ain't using eminem/50 Cent or some other radio hogg to help them out. Much props to them for that.
Yeah they make dope music and like what I have heard. I am going to support them fa sho. but no, I don't see them selling a lot unless they change their whole game plan. Gangsta rap just don't sell anymore, why do you think snoop and dre don't do it anymore? If you wanna sell a lot as a rapper you really have to appeal to:
the radio
mtv
9-15 year olds
girls
IV life unfortunately (fortunately to me tho) do not appeal to any of them. Besides the net peeps and LA, probably not more than 150,000 people (if that) have even heard of IV Life. and I know everybody on the net ain't gonna buy the album (I'm sure most of you are going to d/l if you get the opportunity). But hell if you can sell 50,000 copies and make $5 a copy that = $250,000, and that ain't bad at all. Drop 2 albums a year and you could be making a half a mil a year. Sure they ain't making $10 million a year like snoop, but at least they still got their dignity, pride, and respect that I doubt snoop could ever earn back from a lot of people.

work + affiliated with... eastsidaz / mac dre / bad azz / ju-l and many more... u might be suprised how that helps word get around.. i think getting people to listen to them is half the battle!
i'm sure they'll sell more than dysfunktional ;)
they must have a lot of money behind them.. consider how long they've been going.. they throw lots of shows.. about 3 so far this year at least!

Its hard for a westcoast act to come up unless your down with shade shiest (get ya music on power) or if your a vet like WSC are.
Crooked I had a cool fan base from 97-2000 but he was still overlooked. Its only now Deathrow used power promotion on him like putting him on DPG and 2Pac cd's along with Ja Rule cd's that hes got so well known. Thats fake advertising but it works.

I don’t think anyone from the west could "sell" .. the west coast rap scene is like Germany after WWI.
My opinion, the only way the west could become powerful again is if the east and south were to start beefing or stop making collabs with one another. Right now the south and east make all the dope music and the west just sits in a corner crying.

Anyway, IV Life is not on their level. Lyrically, Chace In would smash them all. IV Life is coo, I'm not that into them though. The game is getting boring with all that gangsta talk. That goes for every rapper out.

I never said they wasn't talented. I just stated my opinion that they wasn't super-special. I like they music, but they are in now way lyrically better than D12 or Steady Gang. I'll respond to the original question: No, IV live will never sell much. Neither will practically anybody out of the west that I see out there right now. Some of the holdovers from before will still sale before, but I don't see anything new coming out of the west selling anything anytime soon.
