Title: Good First Person Shooter Games For PC?
Post by: Don Breezio on October 28, 2003, 01:54:47 PM: what are some good first person shooter games for PC? i already have Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, No One Lives Forever, and a few others i think.

I also recommend Half Life, Tribes 2, Any of the Unreal games, and Halo PC (if your comp can handle it, definitly get it!)

shit thanks for reminding me...i wanna get quake 3...i dont know if i can still get it but i know that there used to be a level you could download where you could be dr. dre or eminem and you could shoot at each other with uzi's and shit...that looked dope.

half life is great of course but it's bit dated

also you can get the first hidden and dangerous plus expansions for free on the demo pages of IGN.com or gamespot.com...

i still think quake 3 sets the bar when it comes to first person shooters.. other notable mentions are:-

1) the first SOLDIER OF FORTUNE(yes it is runnin on the old quake 2 engine..but i thought the storyline was pretty good) ..
2) counter strike ( voted the internet game of the year.. not very good in single player ...that is you gotta get that BOT program .. the AI of the bots is not very good.. if u can play with a coupla friends it would be dope... :-)
3)NOLF was pretty good...

newayz.. im jus waiting for DOOM 3 to release...thats gonna kick ass bigtime!!!! ..

Then there's Halo, both Max Paynes (gotta show love to Remedy, Go Finland!), Soldier of Fortune (the 1st one especially). Dunno nothing about the Quakes. Never played 'em. But I prefer the single player aspect anyway, and to my understanding Quake has always concetrated on multiplayer more.
