but he still aint reachin the levels he set in his 2001 album and the shit he was doin for like the 1st year or so after that.......
i mean the strings his added to his shit makes he beats soun bangin, but beats like next episode, wats the difference, fuck u, explosive, still dre and forgot about dre, still be sicker than the shit he come out with recently.........the only sick sick beats his come out that can match that shit is obies "oh" and "the setup(imo)" and 50's "in da club" and "back down".........and even them beats aint got as much funk to em as the 2001 shit.........
wot dya all think?..............still cant wait for "detox" though, i still think the beats on that will be even mo sick than the productions his been comin out with lately.......which has bought him back on form no doubt
peace
-
motherfuckin right......
shit I love strings......
-
Right, his recent work is good, but if the production on "Detox" would be the same, this album wouldn't top "2001" - but that's Dre's job, everybody is expectin' something new, so he'll drop something sick, I'm sure 8)
-
He has had 2 more beats you didn't mention that were sick as shit, Mary J's "Family Affair" (I guess tha'ts what it's called, right?) and Eve's "Let Me Blow Your Mind" both crazy beats.

^^yeah i was gonna mention them 2 but i jus thought fuck it, but no doubt, them 2 beats were fire

Before 2001, his beats weren't on that level. So his beats before Detox, won't be on that level.
-
String is a very popular instrument, after the piano, here's the string, any news on the album?

Been There, Done That was as tight as 2001. Guilty Conscience was as tight as 2001.

Yeah they were tight, but they weren't on the same level. IMO his best beat before 2001 was Ask Yourself a Question

bitch please and just dippin

To be honest the only Dre beat i've felt in ages is Satisfaction for Eve, that had a real old school feel to it that none of his beats for ages have actually had.
-
He did that? Damn. That beat was hot.
-
dres beats are always tight. i dont think i have ever heard of a dre beat i didnt like. if u look at it most of obie and 50's beats are done by dre because they want a new and intersting beat style and dre is always the one to go to for dat shit

those 2 were for the chronic 2001 album
-
IMO, the tracks on the new G-Unit is pretty amazing..
Some nextlevel shit, at least "Poppin them tags", that's almost cinematic..
-
IN CASE MOST OF YA'll Didnt Know,...Dre DID NOT MAKE THE NEXT EPSIODE BEAT!!!!!!......He sampled It from tha Missin Linx Track "MIA" And It was Produced by VIC & Necro....

Suuuuuuuuuuuuure!!! ::) both were from "No Limit Top Dogg" by Snoop Dogg
-
I think what Bigg Chillah is saying is that those two beats were made at the same time that Dre was making beats for 2001, and therefore they were made in the same sound mould as 2001, and therefore cannot be considered as before 2001.
-
^ Yup :)

Wrong.
They used the same sample. Tash's album was out before 2001 and used the same sample on Fallin On, its an old old song -> David McCallum - The Edge.
-
I couldn't find the David McCallum track on Kazaa/Winmx, but I have always wondered which bit is actually sampled? Is it just the build up bit at the start and between Snoop and Dre's verses, or is the whole beat?
-
the bit that goes "bada ba dang dang"
dre flipped it compared to the original.
i've got an interview with david mccallum in an undergruond uk hiphop mag (called big daddy, think its outta business.. used to have to send a cheque thru the post to get each issue...) anyways... mccallum was callin dre a genius for how he used it.. i should scan it.
-
Well IMO, I think the Missin Linx Track Is Better...But thats just me talkin
