Drop your comments in here. I think it's hot, not the typical Quik production, but Jay-z rips it up NICE!
-
PROPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I looooooooOOoOve this beat. sounds new for a Quik beat
-
I'm feelin' it. ;D One of his better productions this year.
-
Hot shit. Props on the hookup homie. 8)
-
Nice all around. Nice throbbing beat, Jay Z handles it like he always does. I think this is the only song I've heard off his new album, but it's obviously gonna be tight.
-
Not bad...
-
ENGELWOOD FOR PRESIDENT!!
i didnt expect a beat like this but sounds good so far
-
YEah shits banging !!!
ENGELWOODD 4 PRESIDENT!
-
I thought the beat was kinda dull for Quik, just verse-hook-verse-hook, nothing to make it stand out. Disappointing.
And Jigga sounds like ass, I'm looking forward to his retirement.
-
I bet he wont actually retire.
He'll be just guest rappin on some albums for a couple of years then come back and say "i feel the game needs me" and release a new album called "I'm back" and everybody will buy it cause people is fuckin stupid.
-
lol, the hate.. ;D

lol, the hate.. ;D
Nah man I aint hating, it's just that i dont feel jigga. He got banging tracks fo sho, but i dont like him, that's it. Same thing with DMX, i bet he wont actually retire.
It's not a new story. Timbaland said he had retired as an artist after "Indecent proposal" and he's releasing a new album this month. Quik said he was gon retire and it seems he's not (thank God).
Difference is I'm feeling both Timbo and tha Quiksta and not Jigga and DMX. But that retiring stuff is old and tired.
-
Normally I can't stand Quick's productions (don't start hatin' on me), but his produced one is the best track on "The Black Album" 8)
-
Oops. I forgot I can't speak my honest opinion on this board without being called a 'hater/dickrider'.
oh fuck it:
Jay-Z is the most overrated rapper of all time
ah that feels much better
-
Quik said he was gon retire and it seems he's not (thank God).
Dude, it always takes a while before a song sees daylight.
Nice song :)
-
Dope song, no doubt! Simple beat, yes, but dope IMO. Jigga comes off nice too. And thank God for that - I was hoping he'd come off like this instead of like one of his songs that some consider classic where he actually got no flow at all. Seems to me Jigga's performance can be one of two kinds - dope, like here or for instance on Big Pimpin', or wack as hell with no flow like Blueprint (Momma Loves Me). He's got plenty of both kinds of songs.
Quik though - once again he emerges victorious, like always. It would be a crime against humanity if he actually had retired.
-
Just when I thought Quik had lost it.. he drops a fucking BOMB on us. Great tune man loving it. IMO THIS is how "new" Quik stuff should sound. I think David got him self in a rut for a few years tring to be like Dre because he thought thats what his sound should be like. But this style is where its @. Very cool song and am very happy with it.

As a Bigg Quik Fan I gotta say that this beat is below average. its nothing special at all. All of Quiks recent production was kinda average for his standards (Quarterbackin RMX, the Busta Joint and now this). I was really lookin forward to this Quik-Jayz collabo but I guess it didnt come out how I expected :-\ but then again it fits to Jays style, hes catering his beat to what Jay-Z wants, cause I cant imagine Jigga rappin over a "DO It" or "Let Me Know" beat. i hate to say it but the other producers outshined him on this album. But anyway Jay probably wanted this type of track and he is happy with it, and its good pub for Quik anyway.

I don't think this song is anything special at all. It's one of the weaker songs on the album.
But maybe it'll grow on me. :-\
And, btw, Jay-Z is not going to retire. He said that before and he's full of shit. I expect his next album in 2005.
