3.Jigga...face it.
no other rapper can generate this much anticipation..
Not even the Kid...with less contrast..lmao
Hatesrats 2oooTre
-
the only reason there is this much anticipation is because its his last album...if nas was quitting people would do the same...sadly if 50 was quitting ppl would do the same...its not who but what...
-
Actually #1 should go to Big Snoop Dogg. He is the realest rapper that makes beats for the streets.

Yo man, Big Snoop Dogg always drops heat. I don't know why you guys are laughing. Every verse is magical from him, and he can't be touched. I can feel every verse of his like its comming from his heart, and he is doing it for the love of music and his fans.

I think these 5 are top 5:
(In no order)
2Pac, Eminem, Jay-Z, Nas, Notorious B.I.G.
They're probably 5 of the best overall rappers ever, especially when looking at releases.
They're too different to really be compared..

-
I agree 100%.
I might even put him at #1....
My top 5-10 varies all the time so it's hard to claim someone holds down one spot in particular...
-
They might be the top ones since '94 if you haven't heard this kid named Nas rhyme.
But all-time you might wanna include the likes of Ra, KRS, Kane, G Rap, etc.
-
Top 5 of all time IMO
In order:
1.2pac
1.Snoop Dogg
3.Notorious BIG
4.Jay-Z
5.Ice Cube
-
Snoop is prolly one of the best artists of all time, but not one of the greatest MC's...
I think Redman should be up there too.
-
I agree, but I'd prob. do
1. Biggie
2. Tupac
3. Jay Z
Jay Z has reached that level where his stuff is pretty much flawless, he can flow about anything he wants, if it's a dope beat, the song's almost perfect.
-
oh god no
it goes
1. PAC
2. RA
3. KRS
4. Nas
5. Cube
1. pac cuz .......shit it's pac.....the truest artist hip hop has EVER known
2. ra -the greatest lyracist of all time
3. KRS- when you're dubbed the "teacher" it kinda says something about your influence
4. nas- shit illmatic alone solidifies a position
5. cube- c'mon from nwa-death certificate-boyz in the hood-friday-barbor shop.......dude defined what a rapper could do

yeah i'd agree w/ that...in no order i would definetely agree...its hard to put them in order...but i'd have to add in rakim somewhere in there.
-
01. KRS
02. Cube
03. G Rap
04. Chuck D
05. D.O.C.
06. Slick Rick
07. Ice-T
08. Too Short
09. Scarface
10. Kane
More or less, this is the top then I have right now. I usually switch out some cats from time to time. But, it's almost always close to this.
-
01. KRS
02. Cube
03. G Rap
04. Chuck D
05. D.O.C.
06. Slick Rick
07. Ice-T
08. Too Short
09. Scarface
10. Kane
im feelin this list man, its pretty on point but id move Cube down to 7 and at number 2 have Biggie.
-
Well who cares about the order! Anyway i'm downloading The Black Album now.. 8)

Trauma know's what I'm speakin' on.

*I decided to keep Cube off cause his period from
1988-1994 was unfair to compare... :o
let's just say he's my #0.
His impact is TODAY!!.
-

Cube to 7?! DAMN! Cube's influence started before Biggie was here, and continues even while Biggie is gone. Cube's made much better albums, group and solo. Cube and KRS are neck and neck. IMO.
-
id have to say
1. 2pac
2. Biggie
3. Eminem
-
first of all, i think Biggie and Pac are exactly the same, they both have the same amount of weaknesses and strengths, where one is weak, the other is strong.
Biggie, easily, is the story teller. Where Pac is the poet. But they can switch and be good. There are lots of songs with Biggie doing poetry. Now, for their beats. Well that ain't even their talent there so beats don't count for them.
you can't put any artists in order, its too hard. But i'll give you some of the goats in NO ORDER
Rakim
2pac
Ice-T
Biggie
Big Daddy Kane
Chuck D
i would put:
Ice Cube
D.O.C
Eminem
Jay-Z
KRS
maybe Slick Rick
Nas
maybe Snoop Dogg and Dr.Dre
Ras Kass
i would put them lower than the others, because they are amazing, but they could not match the ones above.
we're talking about lyrics here, not beats, not flow. Lyrics are what make those artists. Because none of the beats they flow on are theirs, and without beats, there isn't any flow. Lyrics stand out on their own. Without lyrics it wouldn't even be considered rap, thats why Lyrics is the main key for rapping.
I might not even consider Chuck D on that list, without Public Enemy he is only half of what he can be.
But, Ice, Big, 2Pac, Ra, Kane
They each proven their amazing. Kane can probably freestly non-stop for hours.
Ice-t: OG Original Gangster. There you go, i could possibly consider that as the most underrated hip-hop album ever.
2pac and Biggie, come'on, every artist is influenced by them.
Rakim: if i had to put them in order, i might consider him being the best. IF "Oh My God" ever comes out, which eventually it will. It could be the GOAT album.
Maybe, just MAYBE, had The D.O.C, Ice Cube, and Ras Kass had gotten more success, they'd be on it. They come very close to the list but just don't make it.
But here, we're talking about artists, if it were a group, the list will definetely be different.
-
my top 5 in no order
eminem, big pun, biggie, big daddy kane, KRS One
snoop, pac, nas, NWA (as a group) and jigga man rounding off my top 10
a few more songs from Lloyd Banks and he's gonna be one of my favorites fo sure 8)
-
Everybody overlooks Ice-T as one of the best. He wasn't the first to do gangsta rap (Schooly D, remember him?) but he really took it to that level. NWA was on that same wavelength, they just took it to the masses. I don't see how anyone could put Eminem in the top 10, I just don't think he's that great an MC. His rhymes were either your average underground rapper-styled or this new shit he's doing which I don't like at all.

Schooly D, i don't think he made as big as an impact than Ice.
Thats just my opinion, y'know. I love T, i think his story telling sometimes can match Biggies. Listen to "Midnight" or "Bitches 2", pure madness.

I dont get the Jay-Z hype...never liked him much...especially when it comes to voice...lyrics aint special at all to me...well I simply dont get it
