Something I dont understand at all.
Why the hell is Dre not confirmed for the 213 album? Im going to quote Dr. Dre from "Still D.R.E." Still, got love for the streets reppin' 213.
Hes laying down phat beats for a G Unit album and he aint doin shit for 213...WTF, thats wack shit IMO
Someone was talking about "oh Snoop should be calling up Dre and asking him for a beat (Jome)".....Please man, you gota be kidding me. 213 should be a landmark album. Its been years in the making, and even tho 213 owes alot of their success to Dre, Dre owes it all back to 213. What would the Chronic be without Snoop Warren n Nate....Or where would Dre be without Doggystyle? Snoop and Nate even helped Dre alot on 2001.
Im just really starting to wonder what the fuck is wrong with Dres ego man. The 213 album wont be the same without Dre overseeing the project IMO, and I dont think its up to Snoop Dogg to make this happen. Dre should be the one wanting to get down on this. Its his own brother for god sakes. Snoop and Nate have helped Dre on plenty of songs, but Warren, thats his own brother.
Maybe its just me, but Id much rather hear and see Dre spending his time on 213 than G Unit. Ive had enough of Dre not fuckin with the west anymore.

You aint understanding it cause it was Jay-Z talking, not Dre. ;D

Oh, and another thing, homie..

I don't work in the music bis, or have any idea how it works, but i always thought it was like.. producers just keep makin beats.. an artist goes to the producer and listens to a few beats then says which ones he wants to buy. in this case, should be it be 213 going to Dre, not Dre coming to them?

I understand what you mean, but in my eyes, 213 is like a family, and Dre is part of it...I would expect Dre to WANT to be on this. I would expect Dre to be like "shit this 213 album should be the bomb I NEED TO GET ON THIS...
Thats just me tho, I aint Dre or Snoop...Just my epectations thats it.

Uh oh, you're talking bad about Dre. That's a no-no here.
Dre's ego is way too big. He thinks he made Snoop, he thinks he made Cube, Eazy, etc. He made Eminem and 50, not the rest. If Snoop didn't (help) write The Chronic, Dre would've never blew up. We all know everyone digged Snoop more than anyone on The Chronic. If Cube didn't write the first N.W.A. album and the Eazy album, Dre and N.W.A. would've never blew up. Dre has done a lot, but he's had help.
213 is something I doubt he wants to touch. It's been talked about so much that it almost has to be perfect. Dre fears that. So, pretty much like I've said, don't use Dre. Though 213 was all of L.A., the group is from Long Beach. Keep it Long Beach. Keep it original. Snoop controls the mic the majority of the time, as horrible as that maybe now, Nate sticks to hooks, no verses Nate please and Warren G drops the soundtrack for it. It's simple as that. Fuck Dre.

Uhh when Jay-Z wrote those lyrics he meant "213" the area code of L.A. not the group.
-
Last time I checked Warren G was the producer of the group. Warren should take it as an insult if other producers work on the album. I sure would. What you don't think Warren can hold down an album full of hot beats? Sheeeiiit! G-Funk, Where Rhythem is Life, and Life is Rhythem! Dre don't bust that G-Funk no more!

LOL, either way, Dre dont show any love for the group 213, or the area code....

Funny.
Snoop is the one that insisted on making it on his own, WITHOUT DRE.
And thereby calling in Neptunes, various others etc. to replace him, and "pay the cost to be the boss".
And now he's even getting P.Diddy to oversee his next album.. LMAO
What's next, J.Prince or Irv Gotti.. ??
If I was Dre I would wait for Snoop to call me too, it seems like Snoop is making it a principle not to use Dre, so why the hell should Dre come crawling.. ??
I bet G-Unit asked for Dre to lace some tracks too, they don't come flying down from heaven.
They too could easily get a album full of the producers they wanted, but 50 is probably not that big of a ego yet, that he didn't dare to ask.

Actually, 50 cent is part of Aftermath, so Dres gonna hook them up, and this is not a Snoop Dogg album, its 213......Warren is Dres brother, not to mention the things Nate and Snoop have done for Dre.
Thats my point.

Yea, thanks buddy. That's why I said Snoop HELPED write The Chronic. He was on two of the singles from the album, buddy. And, actually he was on the bridge for the the third single. So, yea, he was a main reason why The Chronic was so popular, buddy.
-
so why the hell should Dre come crawling.. ??
Let's see, the only record Dre drops without any Snoop, also happens to be his wackest. Dre is wack without Snoop, and Snoop is wack without Dre.

Very true very true...
And ill tell you this, Im not gonna buy a Dr Dre album to hear him collaborate with Eminem or 50 Cent.....We all know we want the Dre/Snoop connec, or the Dre/213 Connec...
The same way peeps say Paid the Cost was wack without Dre, A Dre album without Snoop wouldn be the same and just wouldnt seem right.

I don't care if Warren G is on a Dre album, he never is. It don't matter to me. They've hardly collabed, so even if they do, it's not a landmark for me. But, Snoop and Dre make good music together. Without each other they drop garbage like, Da Game..., Paid The Cost... and Aftermath presents. All garbage. Well, Paid The Cost was that bad, but nothing like Doggystyle or Topp Dogg.

C'mon, everybody knows that Snoop runs the 213-project, obviously he's the one that collects producers for the project.
Remember what Warren said about his own production: "I don't know man, tell that to Snoop!!!"
And it's the same for Dre albums: Of course Dre is the one asking Snoop if he wants Snoop on his albums, Dre could easily have made albums without him.
I strongly doubt Snoop is calling Dre every other day to ask if Dre wants him on a track.
You want somebody on your album: you call them or visit them.
Simple as that, and not the other way.
