Was Scarface really in love with his sister? Or just overly protective.
Because I have been reading alot of reviews/summaries and most of them write about incest etc..
-
lol I didn't know Vice City resembled the movie ;D that was coo to see.
-
in love with his sister? oh comon, lol
-
thats the feeling i got out of it...especially the more times you watch it the more you notice that he seems to be a little in love with her...
yeah vice city resembles it...whats really cool is theres an apartment that has an open door somewhere in the game (i forgot where) and when you go inside you can go into the bathroom & theres a chainsaw sitting next to the bloody tub 8)
-
yeah when if first saw it i thought the same, but i really think he was just overprotective and was the only thing innocent in his life , and he didn't want her to get mixed up with some low life

Exactly, he was trying to protect her from the criminal environment she was starting to get in (she was goin' to the same club where Tony hung out, remember?).

he didnt give a shit about where she was hanging out...that was a normal club...he was all pissed cuz she was with that dude...ever wonder why he was kissing his sister right after she got shot? and talking to her?
most people dont kiss their sister like that...unless you're in mauzips family

It wasn't an incest thing at all. It was about her being innocent and how he didn't want her to become a part of the world he was in.
-
He wanted the only thing he couldn't have
"You want to fuck me Tony?"
Definitely an incest thing
-
What makes Scarface great is that it's open to different interpretations, this is one of the several things that could be looked at in different ways.
-
Not an incest thing. Everybody mistakes it for that.
He hated himself, and didn't want her to end up with somebody like him. That's why he was so brash & didn't give a fuck about anything, he didn't care if he died, because he hated himself and everything he had became. He was trying to do at least 1 good thing by protecting her, but he even fucked that up, and guess what? He hated that too.
SHE even mistook it for an incest thing, that's why the line at the end. Even the one person he actually cared about didn't understand him.

Great movie,no doubt.

it was alrite. Guy that has nothing works himself to the top of the world by selling drugs, buying a club, killing, etc etc. Quite simply really.

^ I agree. Not really that great. Al Pacino was great simply because he totally created a character, but the movie and plot weren't very good at all.
The Sopranos dumps on all of these, even the Godfather.
-
You shouldn't forget the Sopranos are a series wich means they have much more time and possibilities to have other things happening then Scarface has.You can't really compare a movie to a series IMO.

That's a great analogy. I still think his actions toward his sister at the end of the film with his kisses and head in her tits says otherwise though.
I got Series 4 of the Sopranos on box set the other day to complete my collection, and I cannot believe some people say the fourth series was crap compared to the other three. there's some great scenes. Check out when Tony talks about Christopher Columbus and Gary Cooper in "Christopher". It cracks me up everytime.

I disagree, and think that it is beyond idiotic to compare a movie to a series...
