i got this really weird pain when i run. i run a lot. i run 3 miles at night about 3-4 times a week an recently i have been gettin this really weird pain in my shin. Its like numbing pain. an it gets to the point i really cant run. an its just in my left shin. i have knee problems but when i run they aint bothering. some1 said it could possibly be that somehow my knee is runnin up against nerves n that can be causing the pain

it could be shin splints(or splits). i used to get them when i ran track. i would get bruises on my shins and calves from running. sometimes it felt like they were going to snap on me. but the only way for me to get rid of them was to not run for a week or two. once they went away, i would start running and everything would be alright. two weeks later they would come back. my track coach always told us that once you have them, they dont really ever go away(as long as you run).

Yeah sounds like shin splints to me too bro...
...nothin you can do but rest ...some people advocate that it is also partially down to your diet / intake and a lack of nutrients...
...but rest is the best plan bro :(

I'm just saying, looking back at his early posts, he seemed like a real idiot...Then out of no where, he started tryna' sound all intelligent and shit by using big vocabulary etc...I dunno though, I've always pictured him being a dumb guy tryna' get accepted as smart...Whatever though...LoL

Naw, I got to know blade pretty good, he seriously is a smart guy. Not just booksmarts, just all around smart.
Anyway, I had shin splints when I was playing baseball, my trainer told me that it's from running on hard surfaces(pavement), then soft surfaces(grass).

nobody knows how anybody on here is in real life. WCC is just a bunch of charactors comin together makin posts. I used to get shin splints all the time but ihavent had one in a while

man, u got any pain at all go and see a doctor, its just not worth leaving it, especially with the shit thats going around these days. They are paid to provide a service, dam get your money out of em.
Nar for real man, ya shud go and see ya doctor cos that cud fuck you up later on in life.

WTF is all this "go see a doctor" pussy shit? What the fuck is a doctor gonna do? Use his magical powers and make the pain go away? Just use some damn common sense. Take it easier. Stop running for a week. Next week only run one day, and go slower and run less miles. Slowly build up to what you were running, and always ice down after running, and always stretch. Now go ahead and pay me the $150 you would have spent on you doctor to go tell you the same damn thing.

Well,there's allways this slim chance a doctor can actually diagnose your problem and could even give you some good advice or at least clarity on what's wrong with you. ::)

like I said smart guy, use some of your own common sense (if you have some) Maybe you need to go to a doctor to tell you that you're in pain, but I don't.
Good advice? LMAO! and what kind of advice would that be? Does it take a brain surgeon to figure out that when you feel pain in part of your body from exercising that you need to rest it and take it easy? Obviously Tom knows something is wrong with him. All a doctor is gonna do is tell him to take it easy, and maybe give him a prescription for some pain killers.
do you think a doctor has some magical advice to give Tom? If I sprain my ankle can I go to the doctor and get some words of wisdom and feel better?
Going to a doctor for heart problems? yes I agree with that and I would do the same.
Going to a doctor for body pain? yes I agree if your a Pro NFL player getting knocked around all the time, otherwise use some commen sense.
