a lot of surprises :o ...i thought ppl were saying Dre produced Beg For Mercy and Betta ask somebody ;D...someone even said that betta ask somebody is dre's worst beat ;D
-
Surprised at Hi-Tek & Khalil's beats... not up to their regular caliber.

Actually they're better than their regular beats, but yeah I know.. Lincoln + 50 Cent and all that.. ::)
-
It's strange that there is no Eminem production.
-
^^
My thoughts exactly.
Oh well.
-
Eminem co-produced "My Buddy" it seems..

2. Poppin' Them Thangs

Yeah, especially after the rumours that Dre should have booted Storch for stealing beats.. :)
-
Does anyone know what other songs BLACK JERUZ produced? I love that beat for Beg For Mercy.

Yeah, especially after the rumours that Dre should have booted Storch for stealing beats.. :)
The dre and storch songs are probably just old beats.

"Poppin' them thangs" sounds pretty much what Dre described the Detox-sound as..
Opera-inspired.. violins.. operasinger as part of the beat..
I'd be surprised if this is not a fairly new beat.

i guess since mel split dre called scott back, haha.........funny how as soon as melman leaves scotts back in the light
imo..............
sickest producer obviously is dre............but i think melman is close..........his sicker than scott and the rest cuz he got funk in his shit to...............he co produced all of 2001 which niggaz always forget, he dont get props he deserves..........but im hopin melman sorts his shit out with dre and gets some more credits n shit and more responsibility and then u got dre, mel, scott and mike and kambora..........thats pretty sick

LOL @ better. Have you heard Hi Tek's work with Talib Kweli & Snoop, etc. and Khalil's work with Self-Scientific or Strong Arm Steady? Those beats are way better than the G-Unit beats.
-
The samples are dope as hell ;D

i agree with Lincoln, these Hi-Tek beats are cool, but they are not near the level of Train of Thought...

damn Khalil gave him a damn good beat for "Lay You Down" thats the only reason i bought this cd because of that track

Dope track, but can't fuck with "Poppin' them thangs", that one sounds like what Dre described Detox as.. 8)

i wish dr. dre did sum shit fo buck's commercial releases, he's so hungry on poppin them thangs...and he shouts him out on g'd up. fiddys verse on g'd up is about as good as he gets lyrically....both powerhouse beats.
that fat lady singin on poppin them thangs....genius...its like the soundtrack to an asswhoopin
-
If the album continued as good as the first 3 tracks, it would have been a damn good album.. too bad there's so much filler and crossover tracks. :-X

Jome, what should we do with this:
DX: How did you link with G-Unit?
JO: I did a song on the first G-Unit album, “Betta Ask Somebody.” I did the beat, and another producer had shopped it to them, so I was kind of a third party at that point.
