is Dre actually gonna come through with that? I mean, eventually, Detox will come out. You think he'll do the step thing? You know, when he doesn't have titles for the tracks, they'll just be called "Step 1", "Step 2"......
i hope he doesn't do that, too confusing.

I think its gonna be nothing at all like anything we have heard about it. I also think that he has made 0 songs so far that will actually make the album. I also think its gonna take at least 2 more years before it drops, maybe even more like 3.
I really don't have an opinion on any of Dre's work from the last couple of years, because I don't listen to the artists he produces for nowadays. But I really do believe that detox is gonna be fucking amazing. If it really is Dre's last album and all, and w/ Dre's standards for himself and his ego, he is going to have to make it the best album he has ever done. I'm sure Dre always wants to be titled and remembered as the best rap producer. I'm sure the beats are gonna be fucking amazing. It's the rapping that I am wondering about. Dre barely ever drops a verse anymore, but when he does they are dope as fuck, like the one from Bodygaurds. I wish Dre would do a lot of rapping on Detox, but I doubt he will. I think he will do less rapping on this one, than either of his other 2 albums. I sure hope there is not a lot of shady/50 cent artists on it, or the game, or joe beast. by that time dre should have some new artists to work with, maybe he will introduce someone new to the game, such as what he did w/ snoop and hittman? Also, nowadays Dre doesn't work with the west at all except for Xzibit. On his previous albums, they were straight west coast. only non west coast artist I can think of on his albums was Devin. So will this dre album have a bunch of east coast rappers on it? Busta, Eve, Jay Z, ODB, G-Unit, Eminem, Xzibit, Rakim, Truth Hurts, The Game, Hittman, Knoc-Turn'al, Cube, Obie Trice, and whoever else is on Aftermath, are all very possible guests imo. and that's a shitload of guests, w/o hardly any westcoast rappers. Who knows? This may be Dre's best album according to the avg music listener's ears, but it may be his worst according to someone like myself who is not the avg music listener.

^^ I agree on most of your arguments, especially on the first paragraph, because I don't think that he has already recorded a track for the album neither and I do also think that we'll have about two years still to wait for it.
And although I'm more into the Eastcoast than the West', I hope that he won't feature too many "TV-friendly" artists like Eve, Jay-Z, etc. (although we all know since "The Watcher Part 2" that Jigga comes tight on Dre-produced beats).

It's rare that big name artists actually follow through with concepts. Jay-Z couldn't follow through with the Black Album concept. I really doubt Dre will follow through with this Detox concept.
Leave it to the Kool Keith, Del and other creative emcees.

Hard to say anything about what it's gonna be like, 'cause there's zero info about the album from the main source, the man himself. But I think Dre won't be having everybody he's worked with on there, people like Busta or Eve. Just the family, people whose careers Dre's influenced + a few big rap figures, like Jigga & Rakim.
Snoop, Eminem & 50 Cent are safe bets, and most likely Nate Dogg, but the rest is in the air...
But really doe - fuck it. I'mma just wait and see what the Doctor comes out with. I ain't even gonna speculate anymore, just wait.
