Title: DJ Quik Wanted For Assault
Post by: Woodrow on November 27, 2003, 10:39:56 PM: An arrest warrant for David "DJ Quik" Blake was issued by San Bernardino County this week after the rapper allegedly entered his sister's home and assaulted her.

According to authorities, Quik entered the house of his 42 year-old sister on November 2 with two other men while she was sleeping.

His sister said that Quik made comments about family problems and punched her in the face multiple times.

Authorities said the woman broke free and hid. One of her children allegedly witnessed a gun as Quik searched the house for the woman before leaving.

The woman suffered minor cuts and bruises.

Quik recently produced "Justify My Thug," on Jay-Z's Black Album.

Judge issues arrest warrant for rapper DJ Quik
Associated Press

FONTANA, Calif. - Rapper and producer DJ Quik is wanted by San Bernardino County authorities for allegedly storming into his sister's home and repeatedly punching her in the face.

A $50,000 arrest warrant was issued by Fontana Superior Court Judge Barry Plotkin this week after county prosecutors charged Quik, whose given name is David Martin Blake, with burglary and assault.

The alleged attack happened Nov. 2 at the home of his 42-year-old sister, said Fontana police spokeswoman Dawn Rowe.

Court records show Blake, 33, entered the home in Fontana with at least two other men while his sister was asleep. The woman told police that Blake made comments about family problems before punching her in the face.

She told officers she broke free and ran. One of her two children, who witnessed the attack, told investigators that Blake brandished a gun and searched for the woman around the house before he finally left with the other men in an Infiniti SUV.

The woman suffered a cut lip, swelling on her face and other cuts and bruises, police said.

Blake released his first album, "Quik is the Name," in 1991 and became known for his dirty lyrics that examine gangster life in his Compton hometown. He has also produced songs for rappers such as Kurupt and Xzibit.

I'm not gonna judge the man on something that has to do with his family. Maybe his sister deserved it? I don't know, it doesn't even concern me. I don't know Quik personally, I only know him through music. So as long as he keeps giving me music, I don't care what he does in his spare time.

Sort of thing I wouldn't really have ever expected from Quik, he always seemed like a pretty chill guy to me (apart from getting pissed off with the radio stations for not playing him). Its like Warren G, I could never imagine him doing any fucked up shit cause he seems so laid back all the time.

Fucked up thing was, I got an email last night from some dude in the Fontana PD. He asked me to give him a call regarding some criminal case.

I replied that I didn't know DJ Quik nor his whereabouts, I also told him that if he was a real detective he shoulda done his research and found out that this was just a fan site. Guess this is what it was regarding. :-\

Funny how they do this on Thanksgiving too. NWA said it best...

Damn, if only I wasn't hungover from last night I would have seen that. DJ Quik on UK television must be a first. The only thing people of ever seen of him here is two seconds in that Truth Hurts video, but to get on channel 4 is pretty coo. However its pretty sad that after years of putting out quality music, his one moment of fame comes when he fucks up.
