For one, M.O.P. have worked with Big Pun, Kool G Rap on several occasions, and while most artists doesn't measure up to these, the Posse hold down their own.
Being shot doesn't make you gangsta, neither does shooting someone.
Saying that "Big L is lightyears in front of MOP lyrically" is probably the biggest exaggeration since NIK last time described his talent.

Big L's style, lyrics and rhyme structure, has been copied by Cam'Ron, Mase, 50, Fabolous, Joe Budden, Lloyd Banks, Graf, Ali Vegas, Loon, Juelz Santana, shit pretty much any mixtape rapper out there. M.O.P. would never be able to see Big L, never. Big L would've ripped them apart, easily.

He's overrated? I guess. I never see Big L get props. There's like 4 people on here that give him props, that's overrated? LMAO. From the content, to voices, to rhyme scheme, to style, all those rappers bit from Big L. Do some research, then get real.

Although I'm a big M.O.P. fan myself, I don't think they could lyrically fuck with Big L. And I don't think Big L is overrated >:( I listen to him more than I listen to 2Pac, etc. Although I can't really stand his voice on "The Big Picture", this album is lyrically amazing. And "Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous" is one of my G.O.A.T.'s 8)

Fame is a complex lyricist? I never heard him spit anything complex. Trust, I've been bumping them well before "Ante Up," I never went back to hear M.O.P.'s older material. I was there when everything dropped and I've never though Fame was complex in anyway.
