We've had quite a few people apply, but I think pretty much everyones stuck for subjects to cover... so i figured.. why not ask you guys for ideas :)
i kinda broke it down into 3 categories, but with no specifics
1) retrospective. educational stuff to cover whats/whens/hows of previous events, artist profiles that kinda thing.
2) speculative. about current situations/moves and their consequences
3) other (ok i'm at work, i forget this one right now. lol)
ideas? :)
mine..
i'd really like one about ras kass's history, up to and including his current situation. possibly in two or three parts

Bio's on Record Labels, Ruthless, DeathRow, Cash Money
-
An artist's profile...so you mean something like a biography? If yes, I'd like to write one of Tupac. If that's okay with you.
And what exactly to do you mean with "educational stuff"? Can you be more precise?
-
one of pac would be cool.. but its kinda been done to death.. ya know?
by educational stuff i mean things that help spread information or that help clear up misconceptions
-
^^^^Okay. I'll try to think of something good.
-
well theres a one things i've thought of around pac... like one was looking at the "still i rise" project and talkin about what tracks were changed up for that.. ya know.. that kinda thing
what i'm hoping to do is throw all these ideas in a list and let the article writers pick the ones they're interested in if they're stuck for something to do
-
This is exactly my problem. I'd love to write something - it's what I do - but I'm fucked if I can think of anything to do it on...
-
When TQ's new album comes out, I can write something about TQ. That would be some good promotion :)
-
I have already started 3 articles myself... :)
- one on the last emperor's time at aftermath
- one on 'the firm flop'
- one on the original death row doggystyle records ( lbc crew project / soopafly)
the last two are quite big

why dont you start it now, so theres no rush at the time?
you could even do a pt1 now, and pt2 being when his album comes?
-
Iterviews, bios, facts from behind the scenes people. A&R's, David Kenner from Deathrow..

The "Welcome To Death Row" DVD has a lot of interesting facts about the rise (and fall) of Death Row Records. Including things about Kenner, Harry "O", former employees,...

-
west coast djs & producers....while alot of west coast mc's come and go, alot of djs & producer stay around for a long time, most of them in the background. i can get more precise if this is something you consider doing.
-

> I'm a regular viewer of your site, I love it , keep it popping
> why don't you guys do a whatever happened to column
> (i.e Whoridaz, 3XKrazy etc.) as well as a you hear it first column on new artists in different cities on the Westcoat like in San Diego, CA aside from Ecay Uno, Jayo felony & Bigg june we have Duece Maxwell and his label
> Clickwest Entertainment that started out with Digital Underground, or Royal Krown & Rassan p.
-
how bout an article chronicalling the break up of the DPGC, starting with Kurupt rejoining Death Row. A LOT of shit has happened in west coast rap because of that move
-
the history of dope songs that are redone/covered/sampled
for the people who are snoop fans that haven't heard og versions of songs that he redid, such as vapors, all the george clinton/parliment songs.
or MC Breed f/ DFC - ain't no future in your frontin and dre dog - alcatraz have the same beat ??? or at least I think. sounds very similar.
anyway I know a lot of g-funk samples a lot of old funk and some songs get sampled a ton. It would be cool to know about those songs and know a few of the best songs that sample it.
